^ :,,) "if you were here I might even give you a hug" "I'm here"
Hey! So this is um... getting a little out of hand. Oh well, maybe it'll go on for a bit longer, but it definitely will be no more than about 40 parts, I promise! Please let me know what you think! I'm gonna start an imagines book, kinda like the Maze Runner one I have up at the moment so I'll be open to requests... please don't hesitate to contact me! Ok, let's get into it.
*Your POV*
I wake up slowly, and in pain. Everywhere is pain. I gasp, tasting something bitter in my mouth and realise that I'm wearing an oxygen mask. I don't move, but I listen closely to everything around me.
"I can tell that you're awake." Loki's voice. He's here, beside me.
"I know," I say, finally shifting slightly and opening my eyes. The ceiling is plain, boring, white. Just a ceiling. Carefully, I turn my head and reach up with one hand, pulling the mask off my face. Everything tastes a lot better, and everything is a lot less steamy when I can breathe freely.
"How are you feeling?" he asks gently, leaning forwards in his chair.
"Like shit," I laugh, then instantly regret it as pain stabs through my ribs.
"You could have died, (Y/N)."
"Yeah, I know." I rub my eyes, noticing for the first time that I have an IV in. I survey it carefully, turning it over then showing Loki. "You see this?" I say, "this is what they always give movie heroes."
"Movie heroes," he repeats, looking at me uncertainly.
"Yeah," I tap it lightly, "you know when they wake up in hospital after a big fight and all their friends are sitting around. Then they usually pull it out like this," I yank the little piece of plastic from my vein, pressing a hand to the small hole it leaves, "then they get up," I swing my legs over the side of the bed, wincing slightly as I put weight on them, "and go get the girl!"
"You don't have a girl." He points out, frowning, then adds, "I hope."
"You're right, no girl to get here. Besides," I sit back down, "I don't think I'm going anywhere just yet."
"Good," Loki leans back in his chair, "as much as I enjoy touching you in any way, I wasn't exactly planning on carrying you out of here." I snort, reaching up to run a hand through my hair. Only there is no hair, just a fine covering of fuzz on my head.
"It was just growing back," I say mournfully, rubbing my scalp. It's no big deal really, but I did like the feeling of having hair that brushed my shoulders again after so long, even if it was some of the most damaged and worst cared for hair in the universe. "I guess this means no more brushing it."
"What do Midgardians call that?" Loki pretends to think for a minute. "Ah yes," he says, "looking on the bright side."
"Mhm," I mumble half-heartedly, taking a minute to look around. There isn't much to see, given that a curtain is pulled around my bed, giving just a little privacy. I can hear through it, though, and I deduce that we're in a relatively crowded of area. There is a lot of noise, primarily from people talking and machines beeping, but the occasional running footsteps or cry too.
"(Y/N)?" Loki asks, taking one my hands in his. "Are you alright, love?"
"What?" I snap out of my thoughts. "Yeah," I say, "I'm fine. Can we get out of here?"
