Maybe we are supposed to meet the wrong people. To build character, to be a better version of our self's so when we meet the right person everything will be perfect. Maybe the people who we thought were right for us weren't. Maybe we're just not meant to be happy right now. Or maybe...maybe we are satellites. Just staying in our orbit till the perfect person comes to us. Maybe we're the lucky ones Justin thought.
Maybe the human was the first piece to his fairy tale. Maybe they could be friends or maybe more. Maybe they would experience a lot of ups and downs with him and later in life was he only needed memories of the past to make him smile, his body too weak to carry on maybe the human will be there smiling with him, laughing with him. Or maybe just maybe he was his soul mate. He was taught to believe the moon goddess works in mysterious ways. Maybe this was her way of bringing his human to him.
But all this maybes weren't making the wait any easier. Justin was two seconds away from losing his mind. He stood there in front of the door that was closed on his face hours ago, this time with some clothes on worrying if he had been too late, if the human had passed. He was scared the pack doctor will come out any second now to tell him that he was too late, that the human was dead because he couldn't get there in time. Just as he was about to barge in there demanding to know if the human was okay he heard footsteps coming towards him from down the hall.
"Justin" his father said pulling him into a hug
"Dad I'm okay" Justin said hugging his father back and smiling from his shoulder at his mother.
"What happened?" his mother asked after Justin's father released him
"I was on my usual morning run and I found him in the middle of the woods, passed out and bleeding" Justin said simply
"Where there any scents out there that weren't his? Footprints? Anything?" she asked
"No, it was almost as if whoever did this was never there in the first place. His was the only scent there but that isn't all...his scent is tinted with an emotion" Justin trailed off looking towards the door
"What emotion?" his father asked
"Fear, I don't think the human was out in the woods alone. I think he was being chased" he replied softly
"I'll send out some warriors to do a sweep of where you found him and our borders. If something was out there with him we'll find it" his mother said softly nodded towards his father as if telling him something with her eyes and headed down the halls with her black coat swishing behind her. Just then the door opened and the pack doctor came out.
"Luna scot" she said tilting her head in greeting
"Justin, you should go clean up. You won't be able to see him for a while he's still unconscious and its better not to disturb him" she said softly
"Is he okay?" Justin asked
"Physically, yes. He didn't lose much blood the injury to his head was not that deep? But I'm afraid something isn't right with this human" she said looking more exhausted by the second
"Explain" Justin's father said
"Well there is nothing wrong with his body but it's like...." She trailed off suddenly her eyes lighting up.
"I need to...I need to get a book...I'll explain later" she said running off towards the west wing of the mansion where the pack library was leaving Justin and his father confused.
