Honouring a promise (Amber P.O.V)

24hrs and counting has passed...I guess it's time to honour that promise I made. I double checked that I had my phone, bandages, and emergency small bottle of gasoline. Welp, I guess I can't deny it any longer. My search has begun, starting with the 'Mystery Shack' as pointed out in Toby's mission. The walk through the forest was pleasant as it always was, besides when their were those poor stupid people who try and challenge the rumours that Slender exists. It almost always ends in their demise. I started to near the exit, the sunshine already weaving through the branches above me more. The muttering of a child caused my ears to yearn to prick up under my beanie. But I resisted and instead keep walking towards the voice. Sitting on the grass a couple paces infront the forest was a girl, nothing was unusual about her. Well, besides the fact she was playing with a pig. I took a deep breath and willed myself to look as normal as possible. "Hello there! I'm Amber, what's your name?" She looks up surprised and it dawns on me that this might be one of the children Toby was going to spy on. She does have a striking resemblance to the kid that helped kidnap Carly and Toby. "Hi, I'm Mabel" her greeting sounded slightly sad, "What are you doing here?" Mabel asks. "Oh, right. I'm looking for my friend Toby, have you seen him?" "Oh yeah!" She brightens at this question, "That sexy beast is in the shack, my Grunkle Ford is helping him" I nearly didn't catch that last bit over 'that sexy beast'. I could feel my face heat up from pure second hand embarrassment. Poor Toby... but I still have work to do! I closed my eyes a took a deep breath, hoping my face would calm down. So she wasn't a part of this scheme. Or was she? I opened my eyes, "Do you think you could help me see him?" I cringe internally, what an awkward question after she called him SEXY. "I can't...sorry! My brother Dipper and Grunkle Ford said that their helping him after he fell out of a tree. They said it would be better if I don't bug him until he's well enough to see me, so they probably won't let you in." She explained. I nearly snorted, helping him? We literally have a doctor at the mansion and she believes that their helping him! "Well then, I'll go explore on my own. Thank you for your advice" I smiled at her and started to walk towards the shack. "Bye! If you manage to see Toby be sure to tell him I hope he gets better!" She called out after me. I trot to the Mystery Shack and try to look natural, quickly learning that it is a tourist attraction. I reluctantly paid the 10$ fee to get in, using all the money I had brought tucked into my phone case. The walls in the touristy part were covered from top to bottom in hoax creatures and legends. Some of them were clearly faked, others not so much, and the one thing they all had in common. Was that they were a money grab. I nearly laughed, having seen creatures this place could only imagine up close. As I was searching for an entrance to the home part, a crowd of people started to flood around me. Being lead by 'Mr. Mystery' who was clearly the owner of this faux shack. As I was masking this observation, someone pushed me from behind. "Are you going to keep walking?" He asked angrily, "Uh-yeah! Sorry sir" I apologized. Great, now I'm getting roped into this strange tour. I hope they don't realize I'm actually broke. I guess I can use this to my advantage, I'll have to keep looking for the easiest way in.
