CHAPTER TWENTYSEVEN

Jane spent the next week on the road hitchhiking and trying to find a place to rest her head. While some of the small towns had their perks Jane didn't stay longer than a night, staying in the cheapest hotels and leaving at day break and all the while wondering what the boys were doing.

Spending her time on the road she had grown accustom to talking to herself since there was no one else there for her.

"Okay Jane you need to stop thinking about the Winchesters for at least a moment, they probably aren't even thinking about you let alone losing sleep over you. Wondering where you are, if your safe, if you miss them," Jane groaned knowing she wasn't going to forget about them anytime soon, she felt helpless and alone.

The roads were quit and there had been no sign of cars for the last 2 hours so Jane walked in the middle of the road keeping her ears and eyes open for any sign of civilization.

She was walking at a slow pace the balls of her convers scraping across the dirt road when suddenly a small wind blew up behind coursing her to get shivers down her spine, she froze and her eyes widened. She stood in silence and oh so sudden and swiftly turned to face...nothing, there was nothing there?

"Where are you going?" Castiel's voice sprang from infront of Jane coursing her to turn and jump at the sight of the Angel.

"CHRIST CAS," she put a hand on her heart trying to catch her breathe. "You gave me a heart attack," she slightly giggled happy to see her friend.

"I'm sorry," his sly smile seemed as if he was not.

Jane passed him and kept walking assuming he would follow. He did.

"You didn't ask my question?" Cas's still low as ever bouncing off the empty road. Jane was so happy to be able to hear that voice again, but all it did was remind her of the times and the boys.

"I'm trying to find a place to stay," she replied kicking rocks off the road.

"Why?"

Jane turned to Cas and looked at him confused for a moment. He obviously already knew why, he had been to the boys first so he must know everything and Jane desperately wanted to ask him how the boys were if they were okay what they were doing...but she didn't.
"You know exactly why Cas. I told them, I told them everything and I left. They wanted me to leave so I left." Her voice was angry but her face was sad.

Cas looked up at her for a second them caught something at the corner of his eye. He pointed infront of her and Jane followed his finger to a sign that said

5 Miles

Motel Monte

"Oh God 5 miles, at my rate that will take me half an hour probably longer with how much I had to walk today," Jane said to herself forgetting that Cas was there

Cas looking at her grabbed her hand and pulled her in close.

"Remember what I told you," he put both hands around her and Jane knew exactly what was happening she bent her knees and held her breathe holding tight to her bag and Cas.

It was only a second and they were standing infront of a low rate run down motel its white paint mouldy and chipped there was only one car out the front and even it had old rust and looked as if it was abandoned there. But it was the best compared to most places Jane can offered right now.

"How did you know how to get here exactly?" Jane asked unwrapping herself from Castiel's grasp.

"I have been here before, Sam and Dean stayed here once." He walked away heading towards the front office assuming Jane would follow. She did.
