Two week has passed, the ministers and officials of the court had become tensed, they were noisy and demanding to know the health status of the Emperor, those were the ministers and court officials loyal the Empress Dowager, they rambled and shouted at the minister of Defense to update them if the Emperor was still alive or not when suddenly they heard.

" ANNOUNCING, THE ARRIVAL OF THE EMPEROR AND EMPRESS, ALL RISE!!!"

Every one scurried and rose up. They all bowed their heads as the Emperor and Empress proceeded to the throne and took their seats.

Everyone were shocked that the Emperor survived, they were all aware that no member of the royal family had ever survived such sickness before.

So seeing the fresh and agile Emperor shocked them, they were all ordered to sit.

One after another the piled up petitions were treated, this time around Emperor Peng Qi only consulted his Empress if he needed to.

The last petition was on the attempted assassination of Emperor Peng Qi Lang. 

According to the disciplinary committee, after further interrogating the former minister of rites, it was confirmed that the poison used on Emperor Peng Qi was the same poison used on the late Emperor Xu and Shan. The former minister of rites had confessed that Empress Dowager instructed him to invent a deadly poison and the antidote.

Immediately the minister of justice finished reading out the investigation report, Zhuang Ling,  consort Xue Ling and the guards were tied up and brought to kneel before the dragon throne awaiting their Judgement.

Consort Xue Ling who was looking like a ghostly could not bear the humiliation to look straight into the Empress's eyes, asuch she bowed her head down, she remembered when Zhen Shi came to kneel before her begging and crying, now she regretted it, if she had know she would have accepted the deal the Empress gave her back then at least she could have been spared.

Everyone turned their full attention and focus on the Emperor whom was now carrying a murderous look on his face.

He hated all those that knelt before him, he wished his mother was not in coma, he wouldn't have hesitated to have her bound on her kneels before him.

These were the faces of people that wanted to cut his life short, the people who wanted to separate him from his beloved, he was so furious and angry.

After looking at them intensively, they all bowed and hide their faces in shame. He decided to pronounce their judgement one after another, after-all, he could now perfectly read and write and knows all of the constitution of the Lang dynasty, he started to deliver his judgement according to the penal code of Lang.

"Heed to my judgments-1. Zhuang Ling, for conniving and killing my father late Emperor Xu and my imperial brother late Emperor Shan. For conniving and attempting to assassinate me. For attempting to frame the Empress for the death of  consort Ying Shi Li's child, I sentence you to death by public beheading and your head shall be put on spike and displayed at the square for seven days to sound as warning to everyone who dares to harbors such malicious thoughts !"

"Ahhhhhh! your Majesty, my lord, please show some mercy, at least death by suicide, please ahahaha!"

The former Minister of Rites cried out for help right in front of his daughter who was now crying uncontrollably.

Zhuang Ling was dragged out of the red chamber and taken to the square awaiting his beheading.

The whole court went into Chaos.
