A Good Confusion

"I'm done" I said as I walked into the living room. He gave me a once over before getting up and walking out without a word.

I expected him to say something. Not anything nice but at least something. He didn't even complain about me wearing all black and I knew he liked to see something wrong with almost everything that I did.

I decided to annoy him on our way to the shop, you know, just for the fun of it. What else I'm I supposed to do apart from trying to get rid of him either by running away or killing him?

"Do you like the dress?" I began.

"No"

"Your shirt is nice."

"Be quiet."

"I'm not a remote controlled robot you know."

"If you don't shut up I will drive right back to the house and give you an early punishment."

I frowned as I looked out the window at a woman walking her dog.

"I'm not a child"

"Adults get punished. Take prison and death penalties for example"

"When adults are punished it's for a very good reason and the ones doing the punishing don't get any sick pleasure out of it! You on the other hand..."

"Punish you when I want to, why I want to and How I want to" He cut me off with a grin and a side ways glance at me.

"You are dog."

"..and you are a bitch but you won't think of me as a dog anymore when I give you other kinds of punishments." He continued driving and looking straight ahead.

"Oh, so you like it in different styles and not just one? How not dog-ish. " I replied as sweetly and innocently as I could.

Silence. I hazarded a glance at him. His jaw was set and he wouldn't take his eyes off the road. The stirring wheel was in a vice grip.

I sighed in satisfaction. I kept quiet, now looking at the road and no longer the window.

Now that I had paid him back for making me have to wear one of the stuff he bought for me I could think more clearly.

If I manage to excape he will just casually come and pick me up from Nath's place. Maybe if I excaped to a different country together with Melody.....no.
It will require a lot of arrangements that will take at least a week and even if I am able to hurry through them he will probably be able to track me down. He might even decide to kill me for causing him so much trouble.

Ah well, I guess I have to keep thinking and be on the lookout for any opportunity practical enough to take.

The car took a turn and packed in the parking lot of a restaurant.
A restaurant? Buying toys in a restaurant?

"Josh?" said a confused me.

"Let's take a bite before we start the shopping." He said in a reasonably calm voice while getting down. Moving to my side he grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the restaurant.

Immediately we entered I had an odd feeling. As if I was being watched. Looking around I
saw a young couple at the far left, an old man sitting alone at another table seemingly on the phone and that was all. Nobody else.

Yet I had this odd feeling and I trusted my guts. Josh seemed to have the same feeling as he looked round the room in a casual way. Then again he might just be making sure I can't excape without him noticing. We choose a table and a waitress arrived with the menu.

To my shock Josh grabbed my menu as I reached out for it and dismissed the waitress before I could retort.

"Give me my menu." I demanded through clenched teeth.

"A minute" he grumbled as he scanned it with his eyes.

I leaned over and snatched it from him before settling down gracefully as if it was the most common thing to do as the old man stole a glance at us.

Josh said nothing, he simply took out his phone and started typing something. The waitress came back.

"What would you like to order please?" She smiled politely but her eyes were wary.

"A plate of rice with vegetables and chicken sauce. She will have same. " He motioned towards me.

"Right away." The waitress gave her automatic answer and sailed off purposefully.

So now I can't even order my own food? Pathetic. That's what I'm becoming, pathetic. The little devil was looking at me intently, not taking his eyes off.

Waiting for a reaction I suppose, I shan't give him any. He was seriously irritating me.
Suddenly I couldn't stand his akwad staring any longer and I stood up abruptly.

I told him I had to use the bathroom and turned to leave. One step away and I stopped in my tracks. What did he say?

"What did you say?"

"I'm coming with you."
