Posts are now on Thursday and Sunday (when I can)
Avery
As I walked into the art studio, I saw Trevor sitting at our table. I smiled glad to see him back at school. I walked to the table and sat down; he was now sitting in Isabel's spot since she had changed seating. I leaned in to hug him and he embraced me. He was no longer wearing that strong cologne he wore at the party.
"You're back!" I exclaimed, staring at his blue eyes.
"Yeah, they figured out my meds so I'm back on them now." He smiled. The teacher walked in a we began working on our paintings that were for our final for this unit. I kept glancing over at Trevor, glad to see him back and looking happy once again.
At lunch Trevor and I sat at Jordon's table again. It always felt chaotic to sit here. Since I felt less awkward and out of place, I started to notice all the people sitting here more. I stared at the five girls sitting here, feeling insecure. Polly, Tara, Jenna, and a girl named Willow. All of their eyes kid behind thick and long dark lashes and bright eyeshadow. I felt them often look at me with judgement and envy. They must've thought I was sleeping with Jordon and were jealous or something. They couldn't be thinking I was with Jordon; Skylar had told everyone about me. Maybe they thought Jordon was spending too much time with me. Skylar's past constant nagging of dressing sexier never made me want to change but staring at these girls in their low cutting shirts and short shorts made me want to stop wearing these stupid button ups and loose jeans. I also didn't understand how Polly, Jenna and Tara all "best friends" slept with Jordon. Why would you want to sleep with someone who your friend slept with? Did Jordon still sleep with Tara? Or any of them for that matter. Willow noticed me staring at her and reached her long acrylic nails toward me.
"So, Avery, I haven't really seen you around until this year, what do you do for fun?" She purred at me. Her long brown hair fell in front of her shoulders and she moved it behind her shoulders and leaned back down on her chair.
"Oh, umm, I do a lot of running, I like to read, umm, that's pretty much it." I said, holding in my breath. I saw her face change from its grin to a frown. A smile then spread across her face, but not a mean smile.
"Oh, yeah I can tell you do the running. Your legs are so toned. I wish I had legs like that." Willow said. I was surprised by her reaction but couldn't tell whether she was making fun of me or being genuine. I smiled back at her. I saw Tara roll her eyes as Willow talked to me. A girl with long wavy auburn hair then walked behind Willow tapping her on the shoulder. Willow turned her dark eyes to look at her and jumped up with a squeal. She wrapped her tan arms around the pale girl.
"Nic!" Willow exclaimed. I stared at Willow's leg as she stood up, feeling embarrassed at Willow's ingenuine comment as I noticed her much toner than mine legs. Willow then sat back down and the Nic girl sat beside her. I wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. I watched the Nic girl stare at me with annoyance. She also looked very confused to see a loser like me sitting here with them.
"Hey, Nic, I missed you." Jordon cooed. He used a voice I had never heard come from his mouth before. I saw all the girls, even Willow, get looks of disgust and annoyance on their perfect faces. I looked to my left at Trevor making deep conservation with Dominic again. This was the second time I had seen them in deep conversation and started to wonder what was going on between the two of them. Were they like a thing? But Dominic wasn't into guys. Or maybe he was. But Jordon would've said something. I watched Tara lean towards me. I looked to my right at Jordon making conversation with Cole and Damon, two other football players. I turned back to Tara. She lifted her long finger and motioned for me to lean in. I leaned in closer to her, although it was hard since she was diagonal from me.
