Harper's POV
Sonny Robertson was different then I'd expected. After practically breaking down on him, he'd stayed with me all night. Comforting me, making jokes to help me to forget the piercing pain that shot through my back every time I moved.
At one point during the night I'd hauled him onto his bed with me. He looked so uncomfortable trying to sleep in the chair next to me, and when I did he looked at me with surprise playing on his features, as if he didn't expect me to do it, to be honest I didn't expect me to either.
He settled beside me, eyes staring into my soul. We were inches apart, his soft breaths fanning my face.
I closed my eyes, absorbing the moment. Through everything, this strange boy, who was meant to be my enemy, lay next to me.
As my eyes were closed I felt a hand rest on mine.
Opening my them to see him staring at our hands, now intertwined, before he went back to staring at me, slowly leaning in, kissing my forehead. To say I was shocked would be an understatement, but I'd learned that the boy across from me was completely unpredictable. He then settled back next to me, closing his eyes as his breathing evened out as he drifted of to sleep.

The next morning I woke to an empty space beside me. The only indication that Sonny had ever been there was the way the sheets were creased in his place.
I debated whether I should go to look for him, but I was in an unfamiliar place. I would've hated to bump into a less friendly host.
Deciding to stay were I was, I sat up, finally looking around the room I had spent the night in.
It was huge but his walls were a baby blue color, as if they hadn't been changed since the day he was born, and shelves that were mounted to the walls were littered with countless trinkets and various possessions. Books stacked on the desk a few feet from the bed.
Sonny struck me as the type of person to enjoy organized chaos. His room itself looked untidy but, looking deeper, I noticed that everything was kept in its place.
All his books stacked together, his clothes messily thrown over the top of the wardrobe ( I didn't understand that, he could have just put them in the wardrobe).
Glancing around the room, I noticed an open window, the net curtain flying in the breeze. Swinging my legs off the edge of the bed with some difficulty I stumbled towards it. The view was magnificent, I took my breath away. The house seemed to be located near a beach, but no one ran across it enjoying the sun so I guessed it was a private one, one that only the owner of the house and their guests could access.
From the window, it seemed that Sonny's room was on the second floor, meaning that escape, would be more than difficult with the injuries I'd obtained.
I spied a tree about a meter from the window, if I could just jump across, I might have been able to grab onto the branches and swing my way onto the ground. Running across the beach to safety somehow dodging whatever security this place had.
It was risky, I realized that even without my injuries, at full health I may not have been able to pull it off. Not even to mention that I didn't even know where we were, so once I got to safety, where would I go.
I decided to stay, knowing that although Sonny seemed to be welcoming at the time he could flip at any time, realize that I was a murderer and send me to torture again. It was Sonny after all who sent the man at first.
As I stared out of the window, I heard the click of the lock, as someone on the outside opened the door. That someone turned out to be Sonny and I was forced to mask my surprise at the fact that he had locked me in. I hadn't even considered that possibility.
Never underestimate Sonny Robertson.
