Chapter 8
Go Back To Hell
I was so mesmerized by his eyes changing it's color in a flash. It was like you are looking in a Hubble Space Telescope zooming into the Milky Way galaxy.
But I just don't know why he wants to know what my desire is. So I decided to just play with it. Play his game. "I want to get rich," I said as I look into his now purple irises. "Fucking rich," I continued while nodding my head.
"I don't get it," Hades said as he inched away from me. "Why is my compulsion not working on you?"
"Compulsion?" I asked. "Y-You mean... that is compulsion?" I clutched my stomach as I laughed because of his little antics. "But your eyes... that's something huh. How do you do that?"
Hades looked at me like I am the most despicable person in this world, "You are the most interesting person I've ever encountered."
"And you are the weirdest of them all," I retorted. "You know what? You're wasting a lot of my time. I have to go back to work."
"You do not say that to me, human." Hades spoke to me in a very serious tone that's why I stopped walking and looked at him straight in the eye.
"What?" So he now has the right to get mad? So what I do not want to take him home with me? We aren't even close friends! Even Paul and Paula never went to our home and they are my closest friends.
"I am the king of the Underworld. A king shouldn't get that attitude from a human like you," he now walked towards me. I walked backwards until I cannot walk anymore because of the railing. I now feared for my life. What if I stumbled backwards? Can I survive this rocky cliff?
"Oh no, little one." Hades kept coming towards me with a sinister smile plastered on his face. "Based on what I see, your soft and fragile body can't survive falling on this cliff."
"Can you please get away from me?" I managed to say those words even if I'm scared as shit. I somehow want to believe that he's the Hades of the Underworld. I mean his dang eyes can change its color and he can read my thoughts!
Hades grinned, "And now you want to believe? Open your eyes, Almira." Hades held my back with his arms and held my chin with the other hand upwards. I can feel his hot breath fanning my lips. Is he that close?! Everything about him is hot, yes. His hands, his breath, his looks. But I'm sorry, the Reaper is still my type.
Still with my eyes closed and body tilted backwards, I muttered a brief "No." I can't open my eyes when I'm experiencing a near-death situation! I'm holding the railing until my knuckles turned white. I'm sorry Ma, I can't help you anymore. I'm sorry Oyo, Ate had to die young, she cannot see you grow into a handsome man and please take good care of our mother. I love you two. And the Reaper, oh God the Reaper, I don't know why I remembered him when I am thinking of my monologue.
And just then, the wind blew stronger. I just felt my body was grabbed and was now embraced on the rock-hard chest of someone. Someone who wears black. Someone who wears a black coat.
I opened my eyes only to find him. The Reaper.
Tears flowed down on my eyes non-stop. I'm so thankful he's here. I'm thankful he got me. How ironic, but I'm thankful I'm alive.
I hugged him tighter. "Thank you," was all I could say. I felt his hand brushing my hair as he shushed me and kissed the top of my head. I find it very endearing, and I love it.
"Salazar! My friend," Hades greeted him. Do they know each other? And he's Salazar?
I looked at the Reaper and saw his jaw clenched. I am side-hugged by him and I can't stand properly.
"Hades, Lucifer's been looking for you."
I gasped and brought my hand to my mouth. He's the real deal? He's really the Hades of the Underworld?
Hades smirked, "As I thought. But I'm not yet satisfied with my vacation." He looked at me and gave me a toothy grin. I shivered.
"What are you doing in the world of mortals? Go back to Hell now." The Reaper was clearly suppressing his anger.
"Almira, why don't you tell him what we're doing?"
"I said get back to Hell now. Lucifer!" The grim reaper shouted the name Lucifer and almost at the same time with the lightning, the Devil himself appeared in front of me.
"Ah, speak of the me!" Lucifer said in his glorious manner. "Oh, hi there little kitten." He waved as he acknowledged me. I was shocked and I was in awe. I feel like collapsing with these supernatural cameos in my life, I'm thankful for the reaper who's holding me still so that I don't trip or fall because of my weakened knees.
Lucifer is so damn attractive. He has a handsome feature and a nice accent, and a glowing red eyes. He had no horns just like what they say in myths or folklore.
"T-The devil wears suits?" I asked the Grim Reaper.
"I just like copying the Reaper's sense of style. Clothes aren't necessary in Hell." Lucifer scrunched his nose and smiled while the Reaper looked irritated as hell.
"Am I gonna die?" I looked up at him as he shook his head and hugged me tighter.
"Can you two please go to Hell?" the Reaper shooed the two men who now have a staring battle.
"Will do. Thank you Salazar and I'll catch yah later, little kitten." Lucifer winked at me and with a flash of light, they both disappeared.
