Jughead wiped his arm across his forehead. His hands were smeared with dirt. When he finally hit something hard, he threw the heavy shovel out of the grave. He pried the coffin open with his bare hands, terrified to reveal what was underneath.
He took a deep breath and lifted the lid. Empty. Nothing but more dirt and spiderwebs. No body, no corpse, no bones, not even a trace of his teeth. Where was he? Where was Jason Blossom? Was he alive? Was he the Gargoyle King?
Jughead started to freak out. He pulled out his phone and called Betty. The phone rang for thirty seconds, but no one picked up. He remembered her telling him that she had found out what was going on at the Farm. He also remembered her tell him to call her after.
He was calling her, but she wasn’t picking up. He got a little worried. He dialed again, and again, and again, to no avail. He was really worried now.
He shut the coffin, climbed out of the grave, and haphazardly kicked as much of the dirt on top of it as he could. He patted the ground with his shovel to smoothen it out a bit. You could easily tell someone had been grave digging, but right now, he didn’t really care. He grabbed his shovel and ran back to his motorcycle, before speeding back to his house to get his dad and a few supplies. Betty was counting on him. He hoped with everything he had, that he wouldn’t be too late.

Meanwhile, Betty struggled against her restraints furiously.
“They’re gonna come for me. Jughead, and his dad,” she spat at Edgar Evernever.
“Nurse,” he ignored her, “Please prepare Betty for her procedure.”
The nurse came at her, gloved, with a mask.
“Don’t touch me!” Betty screamed, “Leave me alone!”
Edgar laughed,
“No one is coming, Betty, not Jughead, not Polly, not even your mother. You’re all alone.”
And then everything went black.

Jughead threw the door open to find a very startled Evelyn Evernever.
“Where is she?” He yelled.
“Who?” She asked, pretending to be confused.
“Don’t play with me, Evelyn! Where’s Betty?”
Evelyn rolled her eyes,
“She’s probably just in her room, why don’t you try there instead of yelling at me?”
“I did look there! I also checked the rooms of Cheryl, Toni, Fangs, Kevin, Polly, and Alice. So, instead of buying time for Edgar, why don’t you tell me where the fuck she is before I kill you?” Evelyn had genuine fear in her eyes now.
“I don’t know where she is, I swear!”
“You really don’t want to lie to me right now, Evelyn, yes you do.”
“I don’t! Maybe the procedure room? I think I saw Edgar heading there earlier.”
“Why would she be there?”
“I don’t know! I just think it would be a good place for you to try. She found something out. Something she wasn’t supposed to.”
“What?”
Evelyn took a deep breath,
“The Farm is an Organ Farm. We sell organs illegally.”
“I knew something was very wrong with this place. And you’re getting your organs from your cult followers. You monsters.”
