They filled each other with the things they don't know about themselves and she even told him that the husband she got married to was no more and that she has a daughter with him.

She also told him that he died not less than one and a half year (that's why khair is always clinging to her mom thinking she would leave her the same way her dad did).

He also told her he has two wives and has ten children.

Before they ended their conversation they exchanged phone numbers and he said tomorrow when he has time he would come check on inna once more before he goes back to kano (he stays in kano with his family but often comes to katsina to check on his parents so that's why everybody here knows him well) not before promising to call her as soon as he goes back home (he has a house here in katsina).

Two months after their encounter Alhaji Mahmoud went to hamida's grandma to seek for her hand in marriage.

Inna said she don't have a say in this that hamida has the right to choose her husband as this is her second marriage.

He went further to ask hamida if she is willing to marry him and after much persuation from her mother (khair's grandmother) she agreed to marry him and here we are today after the wedding fatiha with people coming to share with them in their joy.

Since in the morning when khair went to school she isn't back because she and her aunt asmy went to the amusement park.

They came back after magrib prayer, because she was tired she went to bed immediately after praying isha little does she know that her momma has left their house for good.

The following day was Saturday and khair didn't wake up till after ten in the morning.

The first thing she asked was where her momma was.

Asmy covered it by saying she went to the shopping mall and khair was happy because she thought her momma will come back to her with something in form of a gift to her angel.

Later in the afternoon she asked again and thesame response was given to her and that went on till in the evening when she started crying and saying "I want to go to my momma. I won't eat or sleep before seeing her" she wailed loudly.

Khair's grandma came out of her room and asked what's wrong with her.

Asmy narrated everything to her since from the lie she told her in the morning to what's happening now.

Grandma heaved a sigh and started consoling her which made her stop crying profously (it always seems like magic when grandma is to say something to khair even hamida wonders about it).

Later khair nodded her head and gave her grandma a toothy grin with a high five.

They turned to walk away and grandma winked at asmy who was left standing there like a statue with her mouth agape.

Hamida has been taken to her respective husband's house here in katsina to spend the night because tomorrow morning they will be leaving for kano.

Hamida was sat at the edge of her queen sized bed in her chamber with her mind far away from this world when Alhaji Mahmoud came in.

She didn't know about his presence until when he snapped his fingers in front of her face and said "earth to" it's at that moment she came out of her trance and smiled nervously then said "ina wuni abban ahmad. When did you arrive?"

He said "when your mind was far away from this world".

He smiled weakly and continue to say "hamida I know you are worried about khair and her well being I am also worried about the same thing but you aren't seeing things from my perspective. I am like a father figure to khair and now that I got married to her mom she has become an obligation to me. I want to bring her close to me and raise her the same way I raise my own flesh and blood with no difference. Please hamida dear give me the chance to prove myself. To prove I'm worthy of you please dear" he hugged her.

She hugged him back and the moment she opens her mouth to say something nothing seems to come out.

She tried again but this time she gathered the words and said "abban ahmad (ahmad is the name of his first born) it's not that I don't want to give you the right over my daughter I just don't want to burden you" she said amidst tears.

"Shhhhhh....." he said putting his hand on her lips.

"Let's not continue talking about this we have a whole life time ahead to talk about this. Aren't you forgetting something?"

"What?" She asked.

"The promise I made to you few hours ago after the knot has been tied"

"Hmmm" she asked clueless.

"The promise to always put a smile on your face no matter what the situation is" she smiled shyly.

He continued saying "will you help me in fulfilling the promise I took?"

She smiled and nodded her head then he said "The first thing to do is to go into the washroom, wash your face and perform ablution so that we can offer our prayers."

She did as he asked and when she was out they offered their salah and prayed for a happy married life ahead of them.

When they were done they finished all their night routine and off they drift to lalala land😴😴.
