Chapter Fifteen

No misfortune can happen on earth or in yourselves but is recorded in a book before we bring it into being.
Indeed that for Allah is easy.

She entered the house panting and barged into the room as if she's been chased by someone.

She saw ummu still sleeping.

At first she said she won't wake her up but when she sat for some minutes she realized she can't wait that long.

She started by tapping her arm "ummu... Ummu wake up"

"Whatttt" she replied with her groggy sleeping voice.

"Come on ummu please wake up" khair said shooking her sleeping figure.

"Please khair let me sleep" ummu replied moving to the other side of the bed.

Khair didn't have any option left but to start telling her what happened that's the only way she'll listen.

(Ummu is not a deep sleeper, she tends to hear every single thing someone says even if it's opening the room's door).

Like she's been pricked with a niddle ummu opened her eyes and changed her laying position to sitting.

When khair told her that she retaliated ummu engulf her in a very big hug and said "Alhamdulillah... Alhamdulillah ya Allah. So now you agree with me?"

"Wait, let me finish naaa" khair said breaking the hug.

"Okayyyyy" ummu replied dragging the y.

After she finished telling ummu, she was left in awe "so you can fight like this ehhn?" Ummu asked with a hint of amusement in her voice.

"Leave that aside because now I'm worried about the consequences. You know how cunning haj hajara can be. I hope she doesn't cause any more problems for me... Ya Allah. Why did I even stop to listen to her talkless of talking back at her?" Khair stated with worry evident on her face.

Ummu said "don't worry my air you did the right thing. If you haven't retaliated she will think that you're weak and when she sees that it will give her the green light and I know how sly she can be that's why you just need to start praying right now and seek Allah's help and mercy."

Khair was very scared and don't want to have the same encounter she had the last one and a half year.

That's why she's angry at herself for even listening to ruquayya not to mention her retaliating that way.

When she was brought here by Alhaji to her momma the first and most important thing her momma always reminds her of was sabr.

Whenever someone says or do anything to her and she came back complaining that's the first thing she'll say to her or she'll say these words "be patient, your patience is never a waste my daughter there's always a beautiful reward awaiting, sometimes you just have to go through the worst to get to the best and by that I mean in order to be a good person in life you have to be tolerant. I don't mean you should tolerate any injustice but do not let any of these small things get to you my dear."

She can clearly recall how ruquayya and haj hajara framed her for what she hasn't and have no idea about.

Khair suffered alot by haj hajara's devious schemes and plots.

Even thought she's not staying with her she always finds a way to get to talk to khair even if it's once and boom the story will change into something else.

As of now khair is regretting staying in that house.

She always yern to stay with her grandma but with every passing holiday she only sees her once in that period and sometimes the period will come and pass by without her getting a glimpse of her grandma whatsoever.
