Chapter Ten

It's eight in the morning and a familiar car drove into the compound of Alhaji Mahmoud's house, parked and the doors of all sides were open.

Imran, ummu, khair and mukthar came out of the car and headed to umma's part and before entering ruquayya sighted them from the window of her bathroom as it's the same time she went in to perform ablution for fajr prayer (I know you must be wondering, fajr prayer at this time? Yes because she doesn't pray on time and in her words she use to say you pray early I pray late there's no difference, prayer is prayer).

After they passed her window she dashed out of the bathroom and went straight to her mother's room.

(Whoever wants to go to hajiya Rashida's chamber must pass through hajiya hajara's chamber first, not that you'll enter her chamber but you'll have to pass the building and then sight hajiya Rashida's building behind hers and that's the disadvantage of it because before a guest arrives at his destination he's already been accessed by them. The buildings are similar to one another just that hajiya Rashida's is a little bit bigger than hajiya hajara's but hamida's chamber is at the other side of the house close to the boys quarters and Alhaji Mahmoud's chamber is again at that same side of the house).

"Mom!... Mom!... Mom where are you?..." Ruquayya asked dashing into her mother's room.

"Am right here" she replied behind the closed door of her bathroom and added with "I'll be right there."

Few minutes later hajiya hajara came out and saw ruquayya pacing up and down the room.

"Lafiya my daughter? Why were you shouting my na..." Before she could finish her sentence ruquayya hugged her and said "momtheyareback" in one breath.

"Wait. Calm down and tell me what happened I don't understand what you said."

"I. said. mom. they. are. back." She repeated.

"Who is back?" Hajiya hajara ask confused.

"Khair of course" ruquayya answered.

"Whattttt!" She exclaimed.

"Yes mom they came back just now."

"My lucky days are about to start from tomorrow onwards" haj hajara said grinning from ear to ear.

Khair came into here momma's room and saw her standing in front of her closet looking for something to wear.

She ran to her and gave her a bone crashing hug from behind and said "I missed you my momma."

Hamida turn around with surprise and said "I missed my dearest khair too. What a pleasant surprise. You didn't inform me you were coming back today" tearing away from the hug and kissing her on her forehead.

"Yes momma everyone said we've surprise them and you know it's ya imran's phone and you know the rest. Momma why do you look so weak are you still feeling ill?" Khair questioned putting the back of her hands on hamida's forehead and neck.

"No my dear am fine but its just that I feel weak all the time and you know in this condition of mine am bound to get weak not before stepping out of my first trimester" she replied calmly.

"Wait. What?" Khair ask confused and continue saying "Momma did I hear you say you're in your first trimester?  as in you're 'pregnant?'"  She air coated.

"Yes. Don't you know? I'm two months pregnant" she said with a sudden smile on her face.

"Wowwww momma this is a great news. I didn't know, and now I know why you fell sick the other day when we talked over the phone because I know it's unlike you to get sick and visit the doctor if it's not that severe" khair stated putting her hand on her forehead which says she's 'thinking'.
