Few days later, Alhaji mahmoud called his wives and daughters for a small meeting in his living room.

Haj Rashida, Haj hajara, ummu, Ruquayya and khair were all seated in Alhaji's parlour when he starts with "Da farko dai I called all of you here because I want to know what you girls have in mind and are planning to do now that you're done with your secondary studies and you their mothers will bear witness. Lets start from you ummu" he said pointing his fingers at her.

"Ummm abba daman me and khair were planning to futher our studies. We have already wrote jamb and we've scored good marks. Khair got 239 and I got 200." Hajiya hajara gave ummu a very dirty look and in her mind she said "munafukai iyayen iyayi kawai"

"Wow impressive. I'm proud of you. Allah ya sa albarka."

"Ameen" they replied silently.

"What about you Ruquayya?" He asked.

"Umm... Umm..." She kept scratching her head.

"What happen?" Alhaji asked.

"Aa ba komai fa Alhaji. She just want to say that she's not willing to futher her education. She wants to get married." Haj hajara took over.

"Whattt!" They all said together.

"Aure kuma?" Alhaji asked.

"Yes Alhaji. Its her wish. I wanted to tell you the other day but you were too busy. She's found herself a capable and wealthy man. What's the use of her studying if her husband is wealthy and can take care of her needs?"

"Hajara do you know what you're saying? She's just 17 years for goodness sake. How can I get her married at this young age?" Alhaji asked starting to get furious.

(Haj Rashida who understood that Alhaji's temper has start rising sent the girls away saying they'll talk later).

"Yes Alhaji I'm well aware of what am saying and her age doesn't matter because she'll be 18 in a few months. The wedding is not happening right now you know."

"I know hajara but let her at least reach 20 years by then she's almost through with her studies." Alhaji stated as a matter of fact.

(Alhaji being a businessman doesn't have that mentality that immediately a girl finish secondary school she should be married off. He's always has the passion to educate his children so that's why he's against this wedding. So far all four of his married children are educated).

"Yes hajara Alhaji is absolutely right. You should at least let Ruquayya start studying first. I don't see why you're trying to rush the wedding she's still too young fa." Hajiya rashida stated.

"Shegu munafukai kawai. 'Yan bakin ciki suna so su hana yata aure saboda anga ta sami mai kudi." Haj hajara said in her mind

"Yes I know but the groom's side wants the wedding to take place as soon as possible." Haj hajara said pretending as if she also don't want the wedding to happen now.

"Okay then I'll make a background check about this boy and his family before anything else happens. What do you say his name was?"

"Aa Alhaji there's no need for that because he's from a well known family in this state. His name is Bashir Ado Danabba. His father is a well known business man and he's his first son. Don't you know him?" Haj hajara said with excitement evident on her face.
