Chapter Twenty

If Allah can take away something you never imagined losing, then surely Allah can grant you something you never imagined gaining.
So, have patience when things don't go your way.

The wedding events lasted for at least a week's time because they held different programs like kamu, dinner, mother's Eve, henna day, yini, bridal shower, wedding fatiha and cocktail party.

Ruquayya was taken to her house after all these ceremonies by a convoy of some brand new flashy cars which do not even have plate numbers on the provided space.

The bride looked elegant in her expensive clothes and make up.

The wedding was almost close to perfect but the only problem there is is that only three to four people came out of her husband's relatives.

Before the wedding, not a single thing was brought after the one box they bought on the sa rana day which was brought by the male members of his family and every single thing in the box stands alone with no support talkless of kayan lefe which hasn't been brought yet but will be brought later after the wedding (as it's their family tradition) says bashir who told ruquayya after she has complained about the sa rana items.

He told her that his relatives changed everything he bought just to japodize his wedding with her because his aunt gave him her daughter to marry but he refused saying he loves her so they promised to spoil his wedding and not to take part in any of the wedding celebrations.

He also told her that his mother has passed away in a fire not less than three years leaving him with no other person but his father, selfish step mother, aunts and uncles as he's the only child of his mother.

(One month to the wedding he came to ruquayya extremely lost and down. When she asked him what happened he told her that "I incurred a very big and shocking loss yesterday. I took all of my money and bought containers full with international products but unfortunately cu-cu-custom sieze all of them, I have to go to Lagos to see what can be done that's why I came to bid you goodbye" he said looking extremely sad. They bid one another goodbye and promised to update her on any progress).

Before he came back he informed her that nothing was saved from them. He couldn't do anything henceforth he came back empty handed.

Ruquayya started to feel scared but later persuade herself that "he has alot of money. His family and father have lots of money. They can sponsor his entire life so what's there to overthink about this matter and I know it's just because he's having a hard time that's why he doesn't want to participate in any of the wedding events and to incure such a loss is no joke... Goshh! Why am I even worrying when my mom has everything in her control and won't let me marry a poor man."

She felt extremely happy with the convoy she saw of big flashy cars parked only for her conveyance.

(You're wondering how she saw the convoy? Well she didn't cry at all not even a single drop of tear that's why when her face was covered she shine her eyes to see everything from the convoy to her house).

No member of the family took his car with because they were enough cars for people to fit in.

Umma and her children including khair were only standing at one side observing haj hajara silently and surprised at the way the events and everything is going on in the wedding, how ruquayya broke the record and became the first daughter of the family that's been married off without kayan lefe and without continuing her studies after finishing secondary school which has never happened in their family.
