Only a month we've been apart
You look happier

It had been way more than a month, almost a year to be exact. Yet Jonah felt like it was a never ending month. Every day just dragged on and on. He missed Corbyn, without a doubt.

But he remembered the first time he saw Corbyn happy since their breakup.

"Fuck my fat ass," Jonah mumbled to himself as he pushed a buggy into the grocery store.

"I shouldn't have eaten my entire snack collection after two days of getting them," Jonah scolded himself in a whisper.

Jonah roamed the aisles full of food, placing anything in his buggy that caught his attention or that he liked.

Jonah looked up as he entered the art supply aisle. Yea it was weird but the aisle consisted of random things that would make anyone impulse buy. Jonah was often warned many times from Corbyn not to come into this section because Jonah would end up buying so many random things for the both of them. Yet Corbyn would always end up laughing because he too would do the same thing.

As he rounded the corner, he stopped. There Corbyn was standing and reading the back of a random object.

Jonah's breath got caught in his throat. It was a few weeks before he saw Corbyn in another's arms. But Jonah saw how Corbyn had picked himself up.

Corbyn looked happier. He looked stronger and healthier. And in the end, that's all Jonah wanted for Corbyn. Jonah badly wanted to go in the aisle and say hi to Corbyn. To at least just talk to him. But Jonah knew exactly what that would do Corbyn's mental state. And he knew Corbyn would be back to square one.

So with that thought in mind, Jonah took his buggy and left the aisle. Not caring that he couldn't look in it. Because Jonah had ruined Corbyn's happiness once, and he wasn't about to do it again.

Jonah remembered that memory as he wrote those lyrics. A few tear drops dropping onto the paper as he thought about how happy Corbyn was.
