Promise that I will not take it personal, baby If you're moving on with someone new
Jonah wiped a tear as he scribbled the lyrics down. As much as Jonah hated it, he couldn't blame Corbyn from moving on. How could he? Corbyn wasn't the one who left him. Corbyn wasn't the one who got up and threw five years down the drain. Corbyn wasn't the one who caused him pain. Most importantly, Corbyn wasn't the one to blame.
Jonah knew that Corbyn was very tender with his heart. And Jonah knew certain stuff Corbyn couldn't put up with. Like cheating. Corbyn absolutely despised cheating. Simply because he didn't see the point. Why hurt someone? Why can't you just tell them that you didn't want a future with them anymore? Why cause them so much pain and suffering along with self esteem issues from a simple action when you can just be straight up. Or how Corbyn had to dust off his side of the bed every night because he absolutely hated the feeling of crumbs on his porcelain skin. Or how on certain nights Corbyn needed a night light because he had a horrible trauma with the dark.
These little things made Jonah realize that he couldn't do anything about Corbyn moving on. How could Jonah expect Corbyn to give up his happy ending he's always wanted.
Corbyn was ready to move on. And Jonah wouldn't take it personal because he was to blame for the breakup.
