The entire student cohort were buzzing about the latest akuma defeat with the help of a new superhero, Multimouse. Witnesses of the scene had spotted tenth grader, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, detransforming from her superhero alias as she clumsily handed the miraculous, that was in the guise of a necklace, back to Paris' favourite super-heroine, Ladybug.

Classes were dismissed shortly after the Miraculous Ladybug fixed any damages with its magic for the rest of the day, and Marinette and Alya parted ways from the bottom of the staircase located in front of the school.

As Marinette headed towards her bakery home, the blue-head sighed out of relief and was rather pleased with herself that she was able to pull off the illusion for Chat Noir to realize that her and Ladybug were not the same person, more so that Chat Noir wasn't a student at Francois Dupont. Silly kitty, Marinette thought, after all this time fighting akumas at my very school, he didn't realize that it was a high school, not a primary school.

Meanwhile, Adrien was vaguely tuning in to Nino's anticipation for the upcoming release of a mixtape by his favourite DJ on Spotify when he spotted a pink pair of jeans that belonged to the girl who always sported the blue pigtails.

"Hate to be rude, Nino, but I'm gonna have to catch you later," interrupted Adrien mid-sentence. Nino, who had to cut himself from rambling so much due to his excitement, followed Adrien's gaze behind him and his eyes softened understandingly behind his tortoise shell glasses.

"No worries dude, I'll see you tomorrow."

After being let go by Nino, Adrien skipped down the steps and onto the pave way where he found himself chasing after his friend.

"Marinette!" Adrien called. Marinette froze from walking and turned towards the sound calling her name. She came facing towards Adrien who was now slowing down to an eventual stop once he reached Marinette.

"Adrien?"

"Sorry if I'm bothering you—"

"You? Bothering me? No—not at all!" Which was true. Nothing bothers Marinette more than Adrien Agreste actually wanting to talk to her, which were rare, but still quite nice.

"I just wanted to say—well after all that had happened today."

Wow. Is Adrien acting nervous? Around me? That's a first.

"When I heard that Ladybug and Chat Noir were vulnerable without their powers, the only person they relied on was—you."

Marinette gasped. It could be because Adrien had never complimented her like this. Not for her talents in textiles, or her pastries, or even her gaming skills, but just as being her.

Sure, he did call her their 'everyday Ladybug' back in Heroes Day in front of their friends on their behalf before he had to leave, but it was because it was so fitting for the occasion, and she would have guessed that Adrien hadn't thought too much of it after that.
