"Ugh why! " I grunted hitting the off button on my alarm.

Getting up, I throw on something simple before going downstairs to start the coffee pot. In a good mood I began preparing a breakfast wrap and coffee for me and my mom.

Taking a glimpse out the window, the sky was a mixture of black and a light shade of grey. Shortly after I finished my breakfast, rain started pounding against the house.

"I'm ready, lets go Brook".

While we're on the road my phone vibrates, it was a text from a number I didn't recognize.

"Hi Brooklyn its Liam just wanted to tell you we're hanging out in the library. I got your number from Lizzy".

I kissed my mom on the cheek, getting out the car walking on campus.

Entering into the library, placed my things down taking a seat by Oliver.

"Morning" Liam said cheerily.

"Morning everyone." I greeted back.

"Hey Brooklyn, here's the list of what everyone is bringing for game night" Oliver said passing me the piece of paper. I offered to bring brownies, writing my name down on the list. The bell rung to go to class.

"Hey, do you want to walk to class together?" Liam asked standing over me.

I normally walk to class to with Liz but since she wasn't here I wouldn't mind him being my 'fill-in' walking buddy. After a few minutes I noticed we weren't going the normal way that me and Liz go but a different route. Talking to him was more fun than I thought it would be. He didn't seem like such a jerk like many others.

"You know you have a cute laugh." He flashed his perfectly white teeth, leaving me in awe.

"Aww, thanks. Well you're really funny."

"So, I was wondering do you need a ride this Saturday? I can pick you up if you like."

"Um, no actually my mom will drop me off. Thanks though."

"You sure? I mean I don't mind picking you up. Only if you want though, so she wouldn't have to be bothered about when to pick you up and what not." Boy is he being pushy. It's kinda weird.

"How about I'll ask my mom and see what she thinks about that idea."

"Oh ok, yeah that's fine. Well if you don't mind can I ask you something personal?" He asked looking a little nervous.

"Yeah, sure what is it? "

"Uh, okay so um..are you single? Like I know you just moved here and all but you know like do you have a boyfriend back home? Like in your old town?"

The question really caught me off guard but I couldn't help but laugh. Stopping in my tracks I took a good look at him, examining his every expression.

"Hey, why'd you stopped walking? Did I make you feel uncomfortable?" He questioned jokingly followed by a more concerned tone.

"I don't know, just didn't expect that question at all. It was kind of random you know." I laughed nervously.

"Well I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable in any way. I'm sorry, let's keep walking before we're late to class." He said dismissively walking ahead of me, making me feel bad on how I reacted.

"No wait! You didn't make me uncomfortable, just was a little shocked that's all. But to answer your question yes I'm single." I called after him, hoping to make him slow down. "Why are you being so curt with me now?"
