Author's Note

Hello!

This story won't be nearly as depressing or frightening as the last few but it will still touch on a mature subject. Bullying. So many people are bullied around the world and there is never enough support for those being harmed. I know that people are becoming more aware of it now but I still believe more has to be done.

This is dedicated to anyone who was ever bullied.

Stay strong,

HopeSilver :D

P.S. If you are wondering, all these stories so far have been figments of my imagination. I don't have any experience when it comes to these topics besides basic knowledge and what my thoughts whisk up. I was bullied when I was younger but I don't mind it. It's stopped now and I'm a better person because of it. So yeah, the main reason for this postscript is to just say that I'm not too sure if what I've written is correct (in terms of thoughts, feelings and emotions) :)

Ok wow... that was probably a waste of your time haha.

On with the story...

-----------------------------

Don't You Worry Child

I hit the pillow again before burying my face in it and screaming. Why, why, why? I clamped my mouth shut but a harsh shriek still escaped my lips. My face burned and water spilled from my eyes. Why didn't I do something? I could have stopped it.

I was a coward.

My friend - I realised - had been showing me for ages, telling me that she was sad. I never noticed though, I was too involved in my own happy little world to discover her pain. She was being bullied, behind my back and at home on her computer. She didn't want to tell me but she did. She would show me in the way her back was slumped, how she shivered and grimaced whenever Cole came near.

I was such a bad friend. And now there was nothing I could do about it.

This probably makes no sense, to you, an outsider. But it does to me, to my friend, to Cole. To the rest of the school.

My friend Hallie was the opposite of who you would expect to be bullied. She had perfect blonde ringlets with light brown streaks. Her piercing blue-green eyes are rimmed by dark eyelashes and although she is petite, she had the craziest and best personality you could wish for in a friend. That was, until the bullying started. Cole and his 'followers' decided to tease her because his father had an affair with her mother. Cole's dad left his family to go away with Hallie's mum. It was a few years ago but that didn't matter to Cole, all that mattered was getting revenge on the woman's daughter.

I never knew she was being bullied. When Cole was around me he wouldn't dare say anything, he was just another person in the crowd. Though Hallie would go back home and on her computer she would be sent hate. If only I had done something - I could have stopped it before it got out of hand.

But now Hallie was gone.

She wasn't dead, reader. Instead, it was probably worse what happened to her, because now we had no idea what happened to her.

Hallie ran off.

Her father was searching frantically for her but nothing we could do could bring her back. He was suffering even worse than I was. He had no clue that Hallie was being bullied until he opened her computer. On it were thousands of emails and messages, full of hate. The teasing had gotten so harsh that Hallie decided she had to leave. So she did, and she left no trace behind. Except for her computer a small letter, saying that she would be fine. So now, I had lost my only friend.
