chapter 11

Delilah's pov

"The worst feeling ever is being a burden to someone you love" But that is what I have been my whole life a 'burden' to my parents and my brother. Even though I am not in love with Ezra, I don't want to be a burden to him.

It's now evening I didn't see him from morning, he didn't come out of his study. I spent my day in the library which was huge with all types of books I sat on the comfiest leather chair and read the whole day. When I looked at the time it was already dinner time.

So I went to the kitchen and made my favorite dish sausages and mash it's a dish with mashed potatoes and sausages with peas and gravy, it took about 30 minutes to cook.

I was stirring the gravy "it smells so good in here" a gasp left my mouth by hearing Ezra's voice I turned wide eyed to see him leaning on the counter with his arms crossed . "God you scared me" I stated. "Sorry" he said his eyes twinkling with amusement.

I shake my head and asked "you hungry?"

"Yeah I am absolutely starving" he replies .

Then he took out the plates from the cabinets and went to set the table while I bought the dishes. We filled our plates with food and started eating quietly. I don't know what to talk or how to start a conversation I am always the kind of person who is silent most of the times. It was kinda awkward because I realized Ezra and I have nothing to talk about.

We were two totally different people, who were thrown into this whole marriage. We didn't know each other that well, and here we are living together that to married.

We don't know what to say to each other when we are together it's awkward and weird. Our silence was broken by my phone ringing. I looked to see it was Kaden I smiled and picked up his call and placed my phone on my ear .

"Hey sweet pea" He says "hi Kay " I reply playing with my food while listening to him "How are you? Is the husband of yours treating you well and where is he? Do you want me to talk with him?" He launched all the questions at a time I let out a chuckle and said "I am fine, everything is good here, Me and Ezra are having our dinner right now" Ezra's gaze snapped up to me and his eyebrows shooting in a questioning look at the mention of his name, I just gave him a small smile.

"Alright sweet pea I just called to check on you, if you need anything call me love you " He said " Love you too, kiss logan for me bye" I ended the call.

Ezra look at me raising his eyebrows "who was that?"

"Kaden" I reply "You remember him right?" I ask biting into my sausages.

"How could I forget," He grumbles as he takes bite of his own food, I looked at him questioningly, but he already looked away, proving that the conversation was dropped.

We continue to eat again in silence, after eating I took the dishes to the sink to wash it when he said "You are joining the company on Monday right? So if you want to prepare something you can do it tomorrow. Do let me know if you need anything" I nodded my head at him.

"Uhm thanks for the dinner, it was lovely" He said I just smiled at him and gave a appreciative nod "Good night Delilah" He said and left the kitchen.

Its monday morning, I woke up early did some work out, showered, picked out my grey color work pants and blazer with a white shirt underneath, and my black heels, tied my hair in a ponytail. Took my bag and left the room and went down to kitchen to make my coffee when I saw Ezra sitting in the dinning table drinking his coffee, and scrolling through his phone. He was wearing a black suit.

I drank my coffee sitting at the bar stool near the counter,after finishing my coffee and washing my mug. I turned around to see him staring at me "We can go together" He said "it's okay, I don't want to bother you, I'll take a cab it is only for today anyway, after work I'll go home to take my car" I stated.

He looked at me with his green eyes blank "I'll send Paul afterwards to pick your car but now you can come with me, we are going to the same place after all" He states I nodded my head and went after him, he took the car key and went out to see a black "BUGATTI LA VOITURE NOIRE" Woah I was mesmerized by its beauty.

"By the look on your face, I see you like the car" Ezra said amusingly. I just nodded my head quickly. He chuckled and said "get in, we are going to be late". I got in quickly inside of the car was also stylish, with red and black leather seats.

Benny sat in the driver seat, soon we were on the road. It took us about 20 minutes to reach the office it was huge sky scraper with a big Logo of their company name. We got down, he gave the car keys to Paul, who I noticed was standing next to Ezra.

"Paul I want you to pick up Delilah's car from her Parent's house" Ezra states "sure sir "Paul replies.
"Have a good day sir and ma'am" He wished Ezra nodded his head, I smiled at him and said "thank you Paul you too". Then we walked inside the building.

I just hope today will be a good day, I am not up for any drama.
