I avoid the topic when we all gather in the dining room, acting like my mother doesn't exist.
I mean she's a good enough person she's just....not someone you want to talk to...kind of.

Instead I focus on eating my food and returning to my room, checking over my costume design and making sure mother hasn't disrupted anything.
She has a habit of doing that, at least in my opinion.

As I doodle and finite the details of my costume I think of heroes I like, they all seem to have weird costumes and some over have cool backstories.
Most of the time I can't tell if they make it up or not.

Take Shinsui Koen for example.
He's the lead singer of Rebel-Front, a rock band with an aggressive radioactive green style.
His quirk is the inspiration for the band and style.
Called, 'Radioactivity', Shinsui's quirk apparently caused his mum to get really sick when he killed his abusive dad and ran away ftom home, he still pays for her hospital bill though and nursed her back to health. His quirk allows him to increase or decrease the radioactivity of an object, creating radiation from his body which he can control...sort of.
It's why he has bright green hair apparently because sometimes the quirk effects the looks of the individual. (Luckily I didn't get that.)

Or take for example the vigilantie, 'T.V'. He's able to transform into radio waves and effect most communication, even going so far as being able to decode and destroy firewalls or security from the inside. No one truely knows what his deal is but some say he just wants to watch the world burn.
No one has even ever seen him, not in reality anyway. It always seems like he's not really there, just a projection. (Some have even theorised he's horribly disfigured and now refuses to leave the internet in his true body.)

I shake my head and leave my paper, putting in a letter and sending it away to be posted. (It's a simple placement quirk but it requires calm and consentration.)

"Tom!" I call and get no response. He's probably not even here.

I roll my eyes and sigh as I think that maybe, bare with me, he's off being a 'hero'.
Technically he doesn't have a license but you try and stop a self-proclaimed hero called 'Sundowner'.

I can't remember how long until I get to escape to U.A but in my opinion it's not soon enough.
With mum being a some-what retired hero and dad being...pretty chill I think I would have gone crazy if not for Tom.
Now he's a hero and I think I just might go crazy.

Do yoj remember the saying, 'Speak of the devil and he shall appear'?
Well turns out Tom does and he wants to make that my reality since as that moment he smashes through my window, making shards of glass fly all over my floor.

It takes a second for him to get up from being flung on the ground but once he does he comes face-to-face with my face, glaring at him.

"...sorry?" He tries and I shake my head, not only is mum going to kill me but she's also going to accidently find Tom's body in the garden soon if Tom keeps pretending like he's fine and ignoring the elephany in the room.

"Is there a villain?" I ask him, minirly worried more damage to my room is soon to come but Tom shakes his head.

"I just didn't expect the girl to explode." He explains and I sigh. Tom's head is bleeding and he's got a large cut on his arm but hero-work is dangerous so I don't blame him for bleeding on my carpet.

"Want me to stitch you up?" I ask as I point at his bleeding arm. He shakes his head but I direct him to sit on my bed anyway, he's not exactly going to get far with a bleeding arm in this house.
Mum will ask for an explination and then Tom will have hell to pay.

Taking out the needle and thread I keep in my draw and approaching Tom I explain that this might sting.

"You do know you need to steralise that right?" Tom points at the needle and thread and I sigh, he's already bleeding into my bed.

Steralising the needle and thread with radiation I then get to stitching up his arm and healing it, turns out I'd be a pretty good doctor if I wasn't so full of myself.

"I'm going to get a cloth and stuff, you stay here and put a fleese on or something, Mum doesn't need to see your hero costume." I state as I walk away, Tom was an idiot for coming soo close to the house. He could have been recognised or seen or worse.

Shaking my head as I wet the cloth I hear mum call up to me, asking me what that loud crash was.

"Nothing. Just dropped mh computer!" I lie and she buys it. I mean I often do that but I thought she might have heared the smashing of glass. Guess I was wrong. She was probably on her phone.

Returning to my room and cleaning the blood off Tom I send him on his way or try to.

"Oh! Before you go, why were you fighting so close to our house Tom?" I enquire, hoping he's sense the meaning behind my words. He's an idiot, that's the general message.

"I didn't mean to. I was just coming back when there was this person trying to stab this boy and I couldn't just turn away." Tom explains the general story before continuing, "Turns out the girl could punch pretty good and exploded after I handcuffed her. She didn't escape as the police showed up but that's why I came barreling through your window."

I sigh before letting him free, he needs some rest. Heroing takes a lot out of you and I think I used some of his remaining energy to heal him.

"Go to bed! I can hear you stomping up there!"

Ah! The perfect oppotunity to regain that energy!
