Chapter 7 - Lunchtime and Spelling Bee-kini wax?

Damien's POV

Okay this might sound weird but I'm crushing on Yen, so hard. Now that I see her more clearly today I've been catching myself staring at her most of the time which is very unlike me at all. Her fair glossy skin, long wavy hair that rests on her mid-back, pink luscious lips, long inviting eyelashes that shields her stunning brown eyes. She's really very captivating, and I am at a loss of words on how she confidently presents herself very well and decent. A small smile crept on my face as we continue to talk about the possible shows. 

"Can y'all sing?" Yen asked. We all looked at each other, and Ian started pointing at me. "Yo, I can't sing alone." I said. "Yen is actually a great singer. She used to sing on churches." Nancy said. She immediately blushed and hid her face. "No, Nancy, that was like ages ago, like what 10 years?" She said laughing it off, trying to step away the spotlight. "I wanna hear you sing." Shayne said, as we all nodded. "Come on Yen. You are a fucking angel!" Nancy said, as our eyes enlarged at the comment.

It was the first time we heard Nancy cuss in front of us and we just laughed at it. "Fine, I'm just gonna do a chorus of any song." Yen said. I got even more interested in her. Beauty, Grace and Talent. Wow, I'm falling. She asked for a couple of minutes to think of a song but Ian immediately requested, "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" her eyes widen but in an excited form. It must be one of her favorite songs. 

"And I need you now tonight, And I need you more than ever,"

It feels like I am under her spell and I can't help but admire every tune that comes out of her mouth. 

"And if you'll only hold me tight, we'll be holding on forever."

At this point she caught a glimpse of me admiring her from a few feet away. I smiled and signed her to keep going. She smiled back. 

"And we'll only be making it right, 'cause we'll never be wrong, together we can take it to the end of the line, your love is like a shadow want me all of the time."

I played along and sang back up "All of the time." Courtney, Ian and I sang harmoniously while Shayne got his hand out in a rock & roll sign while bobbing his head back and forth. 

"I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark, we're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks" she sang soulfully. I felt the song, hard. 

"I really need you tonight, forever's gonna start tonight, forever's gonna start to..." she then looked at me. 

"Once upon a time, I was falling in love, and now we're only falling apart. There's nothing I can do, a total eclipse of the heart." She then closed her eyes and tapped her thighs to the beat of the song.

"Once upon a time there was light in my life, and now there's only love in the dark. Nothing I can say, total eclipse of the heart." My heart then started beating faster as if a spike of adrenaline rushed into my body. I can't help but smile and immediately clapped, earning a few cheers from the squad by her performance. I should find a way to get her to sing with me. 

"That was fantastic, Yen! " Ian said, really impressed. "Would you like to duet with Damien on stage?" Courtney asked. "What? No, I can't. I wasn't what the fans would love to watch, it's you guys. I'll happily support y'all from behind the scenes, but I don't think if I can do it live." she reasoned. "I'm really sorry, but I don't want to ruin the show for the fans. They came for you, not me." She said, I looked at her with sad eyes. "I mean you do have a point but your voice perfectly complements Damien's." I looked at my boss, and smiled. "Our voice isn't the only thing complementing each other" wow did I really just thought that? And it's weird how it made me blush, I MADE MYSELF BLUSH AHAHA. 

"I'd happily help with songwriting, and Damien and Courtney could sing songs." She suggested. I looked at Courtney and thought. She does know how to sing too, and one of the main reasons people came. "That's actually not a bad idea." I said. A smile burst into her face, "Are you okay with it?" She asked Courtney. "Of course, It's been a while since I sang. I would really use the help." She said in a very playful tune. "I would love to help you, it's an honor really." 

I look at the two beautiful ladies exchanging conversations. A fan and her idol. I completely forgot about that. She was a fan, but you know what? Possibly dating a fan doesn't seem as horrible as I thought. I mean it's better to date a fan than a hater, am I right? I mean that's what I heard. I just can't brush off the fact that she knows me more than I do. Maybe that's why asking her out later would be a great start.

"Then it's settled. Damien and Courtney will sing a song on the show. Hell yeah! This will be very exciting." Ian said, as we all cheered. Shayne looked at his phone, "Hey, it's almost 1 pm and I'm starving, how come we haven't eaten anything yet?" He said. "Let's go eat lunch then." Ian said.

I continued observing Yen. Her nervous actions I find very adorable. She would learn to move more freely soon once we actually get to know a little better. It's just the first time she met the rest of the gang which is cool and very understandable. We all stood up and went to the kitchen where Josh have prepared a buffet of food for us to eat. We saw Josh "Hey bro, what's the ocassion?" Shayne asked. "A celebration for reaching 17 million subscribers in the main channel. Feel free to dig in, this is for everyone!" He explained. We all looked at each other and got our food. 

I went to the table where the plates are lined, I grabbed a couple and lend one to Yen. "Thank you." She said, flashing me a smile. "You're very welcome." I said as I stood beside her and waited for our turn to get the food, since there's a queue. "So, how's Cali so far?" I asked. She closed her eyes and took a breath "I've been here before but I don't remember it being this beautiful. Everything upgraded, people are nice and coffees are better now than before." She pointed out. "Yeah, cafes are popping up in every corner, not the best strategy if I could say so myself." we chuckled at our fair observation.

She looked up at me and said "This isn't what I was expecting, really! This all feels too fake to me." following a very confused face. "Don't worry, this is just the beginning, once we start the tour, life won't be the same again." I said. "You're something, Haas." she said. I gulped and lowered my head to face her, considering our height differences. "I could say the same thing about you, Easton." she started blushing and I gave her a wink before standing tall. 

We got our lunches and went to a booth to sit down and enjoy the wonderful course Josh have prepared for us. I sat beside Yen and enjoyed each other's companies. We continued to ask some questions with each other, like how Smosh would originally do an episode of Lunchtime with Smosh. Very nostalgic, gotta say, but all there's left is to move forward. Lunch was fantastic. After our hearty course, we chilled a while before heading back to the office. 

Ian then got a text from Sarah saying that Rosemary the waxer won't be able to come in today's shoot of Spelling bee-kini wax, we were all bummed out but then Nancy suggested "Not to sound like a pushy friend but Yen knows how to do bikini waxes. She got a sideline as a waxer in this salon back in college because she needed the money." following a very apologetic look at her. Ian and the rest looked at her with smiles in their faces as Yen agreed. 

"Yen you are a lifesaver. You just saved 2 hours worth of content. But as fulfilling as it sounds, you do have to see the genitalias." Ian said, casually lowering his voice. "Yeah, you get to see our dongs, dude." Courtney said in a deep voice which earned a laugh from her. God, her laugh is so adorable. Shayne nudged me and caught me off guard. "Dude, you're so in love with this chick." He whispered in my ear. "As weird as it sounds, yeah, I might actually be falling, too hard." I confessed in a low voice, enough for him to hear it.

"So this episode involves, Courtney, Damien and Shayne, y'all good to play?" Ian asked. Wait does that mean Yen gets to see our crotches? I gulped. What if she judged me based off that? This will be very interesting and embarrassing. Am I actually going to do it?
