Chapter 2

Three years ago...

Breaking: Royal couple Lisa and Jennie, spotted in a Fertility Centre in Cambridge.

It was late in the afternoon when a news break in the whole country caught everyone's attention.

Knowing that such news would generate a lot of income for media companies, paparazzis chase them despite their avoidance in the topic. They even chase them down the streets causing for the couple drive in a rush.

It was so traumatic that I almost cursed every paparazzi that I see. Not only that it caused me trauma for the accident, but it also caused me to lose the one I loved the most.

'Lisa is suffering from a selective amnesia'

I can still recall how my world fell apart upon hearing that she is suffering from selective amnesia.

And what's worst?

Only her memories of me were wiped out.

"Mom?" I called the Queen's attention.

"Hmmm?" She hummed in response.

"Do you think she will still accept me? I mean, will she still welcome me in her life after everything that happened?" I asked her. We are now standing in Lisa's room --- our former room as a couple. We are staring at her as she peacefully sleeps in her bed.

"Jennie, my daughter might have forgotten all her memories of you, but you know Lisa. She loved you so much that she's even willing to risk it all for you" the Queen calmly said.

"But she already forgot about me, about her love for me" my eyes started to well up again.

"She might have forgotten you, but shower her with love you always have for her, Jennie. Let her heart remember what her mind has forgotten" the Queen smiled at me and kissed me in my temple before silently leaving me in front of her room.

'Let the heart remember what the mind forgets'

Right.

It's time for dinner when I woke up from my sleep. My head still hurts from the jetlag but I don't mind it. I have to get up and hope that I could have the time to talk to Lisa again.

"Good evening, your highness. The dinner is served" one of the maids told me.

"Thanks. I'll be down in a bit" I answered and hurriedly take a quick shower before proceeding to the dining area.

"Jennie, my dear" the Queen greeted.

And she's there... the love of my life, looking so innocent as she eyes me suspiciously.

"Good evening, Mom and Dad" I greeted my in-laws. "Good evening, hon." I greeted her and hugged her.

I felt her froze at the moment I engulfed her in my arms. I know she's still not familiar with me but this is all that I want to do now. It's been 3 years since I last hugged her and be this close to her. I missed everything about her.

"I-I'm sorry, Miss. You must be mistaken. I don't have a girlfriend" I felt a pang in my chest upon hearing those words. My eyes started to well up but I have to regain my composure in front of her.

"Yes, you don't because you already have a wife and that's me..." I uttered genuinely. But her expressions changed.

"Are you fucking kidding me? I'm Lalisa Manoban and never have I ever got married. So please, just shut up!" She yelled and hurriedly left.

"Lisa!" the King and the Queen called her but she didn't listen.

"I'm so sorry, Jennie" the Queen said. She stood up from her seat and gave me a warm hug. It was so painful that it has been 3 years and she still don't remember me.

I suddenly lose my appetite to eat after Lisa left. So I just asked the maids to prepare the food and I will bring it upstairs to Lisa.

Even if she's pushing me away, I will never give up on her.

'For better or for worst'.
