The group, now reunited, walked silently behind Finn for what felt like an eternity."Hey, how do we know this is the right way?" Murphy asked shattering the silence.
"We don't. Spacewalker thinks he's a tracker." Bellamy remarked making it known he was fed up with the rescue mission as Murphy.
"It's called cutting sign. Fourth-year earth skills. He's good." Violet stated in Finn's defence, Miller had told her how brilliant the kid was, and it was only right that she made everyone else aware.
"You want to keep it down or should I paint a target on your backs?" Finn asked annoyed while he fixed a partially snapped tree branch then let it dangle again.
His eyes trailed from the branch to the blood on the ground. It looked fresh not as if it had dried in the sun all day. Clarke stared Finn down as he examined it, she had a sort of wanting dreamy look in her eyes. Wells stare the two down with frustration raying from every pour. Violet had assumed that Wells was only down here for Clarke, it was the only logical explanation of why the Chancellor's son was arrested. It made her laugh slightly thinking about how devastated he must be that she is interested in Finn, and how devastated Clarke will be when she finds out Finn's taken.
"See? You're invisible." Bellamy said nudging Wells.
Clearly, he was referring to Clarke and Wells. Maybe they had spoken about the painfully obvious feelings during their walk she thought to herself.
A loud moan from the distance caught everyone's attention and the strange tension was broken.
"What the hell was that?" Murphy asked.
Murphy and Violet shot each other concerned looks but followed behind the group as they moved toward the sound.
"Now would be a good time to take out that gun." Clarke stated.
Bellamy pulled out his gun and loaded it.
"Take out yours-" Bellamy ordered "-and stay behind me."
Violet loaded her gun, catching the attention of Finn who seemed shocked that she had one. They pushed their way through the tree line to find a large almost dead-looking tree with the lanky frail boy Jasper tied up high on it while moaning in pain.
"Jasper. Oh, my God." Clarke shouted marching ahead of everyone Bellamy followed closely behind.
Violet shared an uneasy look with Murphy before tucking her gun back in her jacket.
"What the hell is this?" Bellamy asked placing his gun back into his waistband when suddenly the ground beneath Clarke's feet fell through.
Bellamy's quick reflex caught her from the spikes below. He didn't immediately pull her up though Violet noticed him hesitate as he stared at the wristband just within his grasp.
"Pull her up Bellamy!" Violet shouted within a second of the ground giving out.
"Clarke! Get her up! Pull her up! Pull her up! Get her! Pull her up!" Finn shouted as the group rushed over and helped pull her up.
"You okay?" Finn asked her and she nodded sending Bellamy a thankful yet fearful look before bringing her focus back to Jasper.
"We need to get him down." She said panting.
"I'll climb up there and cut the vines." Said Finn.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm with you." Said Wells following after him.
"No. Stay with Clarke. And watch him." Finn said pointing at Bellamy, clearly he had seen the hesitation as well. "You. Let's go." He ordered Murphy.
Murphy looked uncomfortably at Violet.
