Zach had finally put another shirt on so I could think straight again and we shoved all the clothes we could find into the suitcases as well as our toiletries and anything else we could find that we thought we might need.
I sent a quick text to Cole saying I wouldn't be able to make our for pizza and to Lex and Seb telling them what happened as Zach asked if I was done and lifted my suitcase as I nodded.
"What are you doing? Put my suitcase down!"
"Woah there," he chuckled. "We both know I'm fitter than you and I don't want you slowing us down so if you can manage to get yourself downstairs in one piece then I'll manage with these."
"Very funny," I said glaring at him although if he wanted to carry my bag then I wasn't about to say no so I took one last look and left.
I don't know why but at that moment it felt like this was a big deal. I mean, I knew it always was but getting this far meant that maybe we were actually decent. I suppose I had taken everything for granted until now and looking back at the dorm room and thinking about where we were going just made me feel like it was a massive step up. I was appreciating it for the first time as I realised we were actually going to have a vocal coach.
I was brought out of my thoughts when I realised Zach was clicking his fingers in my face and blushed before rushing in front of him so he couldn't see my face.
Soon enough we had reached our new house for a few days and I stood in shock as I looked at it. It was massive. I mean, it was more than massive. It wasn't even a house. It was a mansion.
"How the hell can they afford this!?" Zach asked and I shook my head, unable to form a coherent sentence, or even word.
We walked in and were greeted by a cheerful young woman who looked like she was in her late twenties with short blond hair and gorgeous bright blue eyes. I looked over at Zach to make sure he wasn't drooling but was surprised to see him looking right back at me. I was about to ask him what was wrong with him but was interrupted by the woman.
"Welcome to the first real stage of the competition! You must be Zach and Sophie," she said, holding her hand out as we shook it and smiled, not quite sure what to do. "I'll excuse the silence while you take in the size of the house," she laughed before leading us inside to what looked like the main room and motioning for us to sit down.
Katy, Mark and Cole were all already there and I smiled at Cole before realising I was interrupting a stare down between him and Zach.
"Okay!" the woman said, getting our attention. "So I'm going to be your vocal coach for the rest of your time on this competition and apparently I'm meant to be a supervisor kind of teacher but that kind of stuff gets ridiculously boring so as long as you're all cool with not having a baby sitter, we'll be fine! Okay?" She asked, looking between us to make sure we were okay with this arrangement and we all laughed and nodded.
"Great! Well I'm that case, you can call me Emily when we're alone but you should probably stick to Miss Collins when that crabby woman comes over to check on us," she said creating a muffled laugh to come out of Zach. "This would actually be a really good way to get me in trouble if you hate me but I'm just gonna ask you guys not to do anything like that until I've actually done my voice coaching. Anyway, back to the point, I'll show you guys around the house first and then show you your rooms. Just follow me," she said cheerfully, jumping off the sofa and walking towards the door as we all followed.
