I sat with my legs in the pool, watching the sun go down and letting my mind wander as I kicked my feet softly. All that could be heard was the slight splash of water and crickets.
"What are you doing out here alone? School was over hours ago."
I looked up to see the class rep. "Hey, Iida. I could ask you the same question."
"You can call me Tenya. I got special permission to use the pool after hours, what about you?" He sat down next to me.
"Well, I sort of... I live here, in one of the unused classrooms. But if we could keep that on the down low?" I stared at him.
Tenya smiled softly. "Of course, I read the article on you and your dad. Your mom was the villain named Ecstasy, how much do you know about her?"
"Not a lot, just that my dad killed her and took me away." I spaced off a bit, looking into the water.
"She worked with my dad for a while, she wasn't always bad, honestly I'm convinced that she never was. She just couldn't get behind the rules that went with being a hero. I was really young so I don't remember a whole lot about her." He took a hold of my hand.
"You knew her?" I intertwined my hand with his.
"Sorry I didn't bring it up before, I didn't want to be a person that makes you cry."
"It's fine, tell me everything."
"Well where do I start? Her name was Yuri Nakamoto and she worked with my family until I was almost 4. My father and her had a falling out because of her recklessness, she was angry. All I remember personally was her pulling a little girl away from me while we were outside playing, I think the little girl was you."
I closed my eyes and random flash backs starter to play. "The water fountain, in your backyard. Is it still there?"
Tenya smiled. "So you do remember?"
"Not really but I'm trying, there's not much I remember but I feel at home with you if that makes any sense."
"I have been told I have a very friendly nature to me and..."
"Not like that Tenya. I mean... I guess I don't really know how to describe it. You're like an older brother type."
"Oh..." I heard the disappointment in his voice.
"Not that you aren't attractive or anything. You and Kirishima are probably the best guys in our class. You guys know how to treat people." I smiled softly.
"Have you eaten? There's dinner at my house in 30 minutes if you want to come." Tenya offered.
"I ate with Izuku and Kirishima after school ended, I'm ok for tonight. What kind of training are you doing?" I questioned.
"I'm working on speed so I'm going to attempt to run across the water." Tenya adjusted his glasses.
I chuckled a bit. "That could be very useful, in water rescue especially. It's really smart thinking Tenya."
"Thank you, I do appreciate your words of encouragement." He smiled proudly.
"I think I'm gonna go study in my room, don't push yourself too hard." I stood up and grabbed my slippers.
"Roxanne, I'm sorry for making you upset earlier. I promise you that wasn't my..."
"Tenya, it's perfectly fine. I'd rather find out from a friend."
I walked back inside and slowly made my way back to my room. I could hear my phone blasting Asshole by hooligan chase.
"Shit." I threw my door opened and grabbed my phone off the counter. I pressed answer, not prepared for the scolding I was about to get. "Hey Katsu..."
"For fuck sakes Roxy! I thought you had fucking died! Pick up your phone when I call! I've listened to your stupid voicemail like 30 fucking times!" Katsuki shouted.
"Sorry, I was talking with Tenya out at the pool, I..."
"Glasses? What the hell is he doing there? You aren't really interested in that loser are you?"
"Not as interested as I am in my King." I giggled a bit.
