"I said I'm headed there now man. I'm a block from the school and I can handle myself." I held my phone to my ear with my right hand and held a pizza box in my left.

"I know you are more than capable but I'd be more at ease if..."

I slammed into a raven haired man as I rounded the corner. "Shoto, I'll call you when I get home." I hung up my phone and stared at the man, his face looked as if it was peeling away and had been stapled in places. I quickly hung my head and bowed to him. "I'm so sorry, I'll be more careful."

The man put his hand under my chin and lifted my head. "Your name wouldn't happen to be Nakamoto? You look so young."

"No, I'm not." I stepped back and stuck my hand out. "Lilac. It's nice to meet you."

He smiled slightly and shook my hand. "You can call me Dabi, sorry for running into you. I should've been paying attention as well."

After standing in an awkward silence for a moment I smiled and went to go past him. "Well I hope to see you again."

Dabi grabbed my arm. "What is your mother's name?"

"Look man, I don't know you but I'm gonna warn you right now that I'm a student at UA and if you try anything I'll drop you here and now. If somehow you manage to get me I have very paranoid friends...."

He let go of my arm and chuckled a bit. "Ah so I was right. Your mom is Yuri Nakamoto, do you know where she is now?"

I backed up a bit more. "She died 11 years ago."

Dabi chuckled some more. "You shouldn't believe everything you read Kid." He took a small cellphone out of his pocket and tossed it to me. "Call the saved number in there after you've worked up the guts to learn the truth."

I stared at what was obviously a burner phone.

He started to walk away from me but paused for a moment. "Oh yeah, did you say Shoto earlier? Before you slammed into me. He's not your boyfriend right?"

"No." I choked a bit on my words. "Love doesn't agree with me."

Dabi chuckled and started to cough. "Well, later kid."

I quickly rushed up the path to the school and made my way to the back halls before calling Shoto back.

"What took you so long? What happened?" He questioned before I could get a word out.

"I just ran into a guy who knew my mom, that's all." I set the phone Dabi gave me on the counter.

"Did he know anything about..." Shoto paused and I could hear Fuyumi.

"Nothing interesting Sho, go see what your sister wants." I pulled my school jacket off.

"Alright, I will talk to you tomorrow. Sleep well love."

"You as well dork." I hung up and sat my phone next to the other one.

26 minutes, that's how long I stood next to my bed. I was hoping this could be possible, my mom could be alive, with the pictures the officers had shown me on top. I couldn't ignore the evidence piling up but I didn't know the guy that handed me the phone or how he could possibly know her. What if he was watching me through the camera or something? He could be a perv or possibly working with the League of Villains. As stupid as it seemed, I didn't get the villain vibe from Dabi and as sus as it seemed I still picked up the phone and called.

3 rings, then a woman greeted me warmly. "He got the phone to you, I'm so glad. I really couldn't stand being apart from you anymore, after I saw you on TV I knew I had to do something."

"Mom?"
