Long ago in a world disputed by powerful races lived those called humans.
They weren't special, they weren't tall, covered in fur or eternal.
But they lived despite the odds.
Weak but fast expanding, the humans grew in number which scared the rest.
Humans found themselves going at war with many of their world's cohabitants.
The number of humans dwindled rapidly despite them taking down many of their enemies along with them.
Humans feared for their lives, praying to the god reigning on their world for protection.
When all strongholds had fallen and only one remained, stepped forth a man.
No one knew of his past, his origin or his intentions but they all sow his eyes and hand blazing with angry flames.
With his strength alone the humans gained the edge that was needed in this crushing war, no one escaped the fury of his flames as they incinerated all in their wake.
And then people like that man started to appear all over.
The first elementals were born.
Magic flowing through their vines like blood and as long as they lived magic listened to them.
This was an ability no other race before had, having to harvest the chaotic and unstable wild magic, hard to control and volatile, only the most hard working of them could master it and not even every race could do that.
The leaders of all the people decided to get together to save all the races from an early end and that day the pact that ended the war was struck.
Slowly all the people gathered themselves, all rebuilding their lost towns and cities.
Between humans rose kings and queens, creating their own king and queendoms.
And as years went by, the elementals started to dwindle and only a few remained, they became a cast of special people showing status and strength, seen as highly as nobles, them working for their respective ruler.
Our story will single out one of these elemental mages from the rest, following her story and what fate the god decided for her.
