"Do not forget my words."
"I won't but lets keep it this way as long as we aren't sure I'll live."
"If such is your wish."
"Yes I do wish it for it to remain like that."
"Alright, go now, they are waiting for you silver dragon."
I walked down the hallways in silence.
I sighed, tracing the name I burnt into my sword, the sword I have left from a time I never lived, I wonder how things would have been.... With my parents, back in the time I was supposed to live in...
Or maybe this was my fate and not just some cruel trick of fate, my egg took many centuries to hatch, was it bound to hatch when Aurelius was to come back? Would it always have been like that?
Now I never even can get to know them.... Well that is a bit of a lie, they were right, I did grow up with them by my side as the Elm, I got told so much by the tree, I had parents but not on the traditional front with any of the the parents figures I had before all this happened.
I slid the blade back in the sheath, I have my mother, and passed my hand on my staff frozen to my back, I have my father, and finally trailed my hand down and grabbed my really costly yet so insignificant in the scheme of things necklace in my hand, and I have my family, I can't fail them.
I just can't.
My feet felt heavy and my hands shook with fear about our future but I kept emotions deep inside, I'll be strong for them.
For the old man asking for bread we brought to his starving town.
For the woman who's husband died in the war and whom we carried back him on our shoulders.
For the man we helped out in the coldest winter to give him and his people a chance.
For the boy who's cat we carried down from the highest branches of the trees.
For the girl who goes to sleep to stories about us.
For the baby born in the world protected by us.
For everyone's sake.
I'll be strong, I destroy all obstacles, I'll vanquish all fear, eliminate all evil.
All done for everyone.
I looked up from my thoughts when my boots didn't click on the marble anymore and whooshed through the long grass instead.
"They already left, asking me to give their 'good luck' to you." Audrey was the only one there.
"They did good, we must hurry."
"How will we do that?"
"People will come to see a dragon.... Gather in a mob, what it be for a silver one?"
"Are you sure you can change?"
"If it works like how we think it will I should be able."
"You'd end up naked no?"
"Well I didn't the first time so don't get those dreamy eyes, not the time."
"Right sorry sorry."
"I'd tell you to step back, might not be as smooth as the first time, I was really pissed."
"Yeah I know, I was the one thrown in the fire that got a dragon come save me, a sexy dragon that can do pretty braids."
"You always lighten the situation." I chuckled.
"It is easier to plan when you think positively if you can."
"I'll keep that in mind, now back up, time to start this rodeo."
I guess this is what my mother meant by it being another muscle, my flames running free under my skin easily, feeling as it wind blew right through me, a typhoon ready to be freed and yet completely under control.
It was like I knew what to do with being a dragon already, I guess that was from the part of me that had been locked away from me before.
The next part wasn't the most comfortable one, first thing I felt was my wrist break itself and a muscle in my leg snap in two.
I bit my tongue as I fell over, blood dripping through my clenched teeth and I didn't let go.
As my body and muscles did their thing: shifting, breaking, stretching and compressing with the help of the magic shaping my body, I stayed glaring at the ground that was further and further away until complete body numbness set in.
"That didn't sound painless." I heard Audrey suck in air between her teeth.
"It wasn't." My voice had the traditional dragon gruffness to it so I guess I was successful.
I raised one of my claws paws and flexed it.
"Lets get going." I growled out making her jog over.
"Hmm how do I do this?"
"Like a horse I suppose."
"Those have saddles."
"I'll let someone make me one to wear in this form for you if we do this again okay? You know how to ride a horse without a saddle with holding the mane, this will just be riding a dragon and holding one of the neck spikes."
"I already rode a dragon~."
"Audrey good gods..."
"Ah my prude little dragon."
"You know, I don't want you to come on second thought."
"Fine I'll shut it." She somehow pulled herself on my back, neither of us really knew how to go on with this smoothly.
"Lets go." I never learnt to fly but hell, jumping up from the ground and raising up towards the clouds came as easily as if I was born doing this, time to get started.
