All came by instinct so that meant my flight was nowhere near how fast some dragons could fly and I was tiring fast, unused to this.

"Oh my god." I heard Audrey whispered, she was another reason I didn't even try to fly faster, I'll be sure to get someone to improvise a saddle to sit on my back if we will be doing this again.

I agreed with her surprise, from this far up we could see the land was actually darkening and becoming black even outside out queendom, Aurelius' influence of wild magic corrupting and had spread further then we thought.

We were far up but not far up enough so to the general surprise of us both I needed to stall myself and almost yank myself back through the air to avoid a huge boulder, fire was the only thing dragons were immune too fully, I can still break bones from boulders.

"Arianwyn!" I snarled and caught her in my back left paw as Audrey tumbled off my back.

"Got you." I growled to myself as I breathed a jet a my fire at another boulder, the small pieces it blew into putting holes through my wings.

"We need to land!!" She yelled at me, seeing what happened. I never through Aurelius already took over the whole queendom like this, he works fast.

I grabbed her in my front paws before throwing her up and, despite her not thinking of me doing it this way, changed back, which was much faster.

I just let myself drop, taking a deep breath and with a wicked grin at the already amassing enemy, breathed out a torrent of flames.

The fire came in contact with the ground and splattered around, rush down the streets between the houses, incinerating all in its wake.

Before I even touched the ground, I let fire from me feet sending me up and catching the screaming free-falling Audrey.

Too much fire would need to be generated to even hover with this trick but it did help in a smoother landing.

"What the fuck Arianwyn?!" She yelled at me.

"Not the time!" I yelled back, my flames killed a lot of the enemy but they were already back.

I grabbed my staff and used it to club one of the black armored enemy knights in the head.

This was the first time I actually saw one without a head wear that wasn't an adviser, the face wasn't that of a human.... Well an alive one.... The skin shriveled and mummified, a deep purple with black and oozing of rotting liquids, I quickly pulled my sword out and sliced it off.

"Oh my gods, I get it now." I whispered as I froze my staff back to my back and pulled my dagger out to get into slicing at them, a fire trail after my feet to add burn to kicks.

I was more then sure each soldier I took down was one of these undead, how strong is Aurelius to do this?!

I cut one down and two more took its place, as if the long dead were brought back and there were many many maaaaaany dead throughout history so he had a huge indefinite amount of soldiers to rise from the earth.

I whipped around at a scream but I just saw the blade heading at me.

I felt the blade slice up my back as stashed my weapons and I blasted myself up in the air.

These were stiff yet fast moving corpses so I could easily run across them while stepping on them but needed to be even faster to keep them from grabbing me.

I just grabbed Audrey and with a wave off my hand burnt all those around her, I was slightly relieved that her only injury was a dagger stabbed trough her hand because it was sticking into her hand and keeping pressure constant so she wouldn't bleed.

"Sorry." I whispered, freezing  her hand over not enough to damage or kill the flesh but her hand was in a glove made of ice. "To keep the swelling and pain down and to not pullout the dagger." I quickly explained while taking her other hand and booking it.

Running was better then fighting an endless battle.

My back was burning heavily but I just ran since I was still able to do that despite the pain.

I was tackled and let go off Audrey. I tried the shove the enemy off me as another one got her.

Audrey's fear made me pissed as she yelled, the knight daring the hurt her but even after I put a hole through its chest it kept coming at me.

That was until the ground went missing underneath us and we all fell down into darkness, tumbling down dark tunnels while I kept trying to get the knight off me as his hold on my arms was seemingly impossible to break.

And finally ground became flat.

I heard shuffling and yelling as the knight was dragged off be by guards in our queendom's armor and peasants working together to restrain the enemy as I saw others close the huge hatch we fell in through.

I groaned as a closed my eyes and reached for my back, displeased by the depth of the cut as I slowly flipped to my side and got on my knees, looking around at the underground city that stood in front of me, houses of wood and scraps piling up several stories high with rope bridges high up.

I was in awe, someone had made this before the fall and now all those that escaped must be living down here.

"Fancy seeing you here." I heard a familiar voice, I dropped my head and soon a soft laugh escaped me.

"Should I even say the same?" I asked looking up. "Ethan."
