Rapunzel POV

Eugene and I flew to North's workshop and waited for everyone else to arrive. The guardians were nowhere to be found so it was just the two of us. After a few minutes, Anna and Kristoff joined us. She was clinging onto him like he would be lost forever if she loosened her grip. He didn't seem to mind.

"Welcome back." Eugene chuckled as they sat down with us.

"It's really good to be back." Kristoff grinned, his eyes drifting to Anna.

"Hey come on, Merida's not that bad." Eugene laughed as I slapped the back of his head.

"I'm sure Jack would love to hear all about your time with Elsa," Anna stated, challenging him. My boyfriend held onto me tightly and I giggled with my best friend.

"It's good to have you back Ann,"

Merida, Hiccup and Astrid were the next to come in and it was weird to see them all getting along. Astrid was originally going to go back to work and now it seemed she had spent more time at the academy than anyone. I looked up and noticed that Merida was holding Hiccup's hand. I smirked at her and she glared. It was nice to see their complicated romance finally get the chance to bloom.

"Hiccup, I'm breaking up with you." I teased earning an eye roll from most of the room.

"Thank gods. I thought I was going to have to do it." He retorted.

The last to arrive was Jack and Elsa who seemed to take their time to get back. They had the biggest smiles on their faces when they came flying through the window.

"Looks like everyone's back," Astrid announced as the loving look in Elsa's eyes confirmed she had regained her memories. "And I'm the only single person in the room...Great."

"If it makes you feel any better, I'm the only girl here who hasn't dated Hiccup." Anna pointed out causing Hiccup to blush.

"Why would that make me feel better?" Astrid asked, puzzled by Anna's realization.

"I don't know, I just really needed to acknowledge it." She shrugged. "Plus you have to admit, the colour of his face right now is kind of hilarious..."

"I'm the only guy who hasn't dated Elsa." Kristoff piped up.

"And you never will." Jack and Anna both stated possessive.

"I'm the only guy who's never dated Mer-" Eugene started but was silenced by a glare from Merida.

"We're done with that game." She snapped.

"When did our lives become so complicated?" I asked everyone, leaning my head on Eugene's shoulder.

"When a few someones decided we were 'guardian material.'" Elsa sighed turning to Jack. "Thanks for that by the way."

"If I'm honest, I thought you were hot." He smirked playfully earning a light shove.

"You mean you uprooted my life and left my kingdom unattended because you had a crush on me?" Elsa asked, seemingly unimpressed. Jack's smirk fell off his face as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

"Sorry, Snowflake." She shook her head at him.

"No, you're not."

"No, I'm not." He confirmed wrapping his arms around her. Before they could kiss, someone cleared their throat. We all looked up and came face to face with the guardians.

Anna and I made eye contact, making a plan in our heads before getting up and tackling the guardians in a hug. I could hear Jack losing it as Bunny fell back. The rest of our friends followed our lead, joining the giant group hug. Jack was the last one to join and I think he only did because Elsa threw her arm around Eugene.

It was nice to be all together again. It felt like coming home. For once things felt easy and comfortable.

If only it could last.
