Chapter 9:
It's been about 3 weeks since Louis and I had decided to start over in our relationship. Only two days later, Simon had sent the boys home to visit with their families before we go to America to work on things for the tour and album.
Louis and I have talked a few times, but all of us know that we need to spend these days enjoying our family, since we will be away from them for a while. Today was the day we were all meeting in London to fly to LA.
I nervously fix my jacket in the mirror, thinking about seeing Louis again. Now that he had more time to think about us, did he still want to try again? Who knows if his sisters had tried talking him out of it in an attempt to protect him.
"Harry, the car is here!" Gemma shouts from the bottom of the stairs. I grab my two large suitcases and hobble down the staircase.
My driver waits by the door and takes my luggage from me, stuffing it in the trunk.
I turn to my family and suddenly am overwhelmed with emotion. I've stood in this exact position way too many times. As much as I loved performing and touring, I hated that I couldn't pack them up and take them with me.
Throwing my arms around my mom's small frame, a few tears flow down my cheeks. "I'm going to miss you a lot, Mum."
She pulls back and softly smiles before saying, "I know Harry, I will miss you too. I will be here when you get back though, and I'm only a phone call away."
"You aren't going to miss me, wimp?" my sister says, pulling me into a hug.
I laugh into her shoulder and respond "I am going to miss you, Gemma. But I won't miss hearing you and Michal at 3 in the morning."
She blushes at my comment and smacks my arm before they both usher me into my car. I wave goodbye to them as we pull out of the driveway, and get a bubbly feeling inside my stomach.
Here's to new beginnings.
———
"We are here, Mr. Styles." The driver says as we pull into a private lot at the back of the airport.
Security immediately arrives and ushers me through the crowd of fans gathered outside the door. So much for a private entrance. I search for the boys as we walk through the large airport, and my eyes finally land on a group of people surrounded by big men.
I don't have time for proper greetings, because once they see I'm there, the staff takes us outside towards the private jet.
I follow the rest of the team onto the plane, and my eyes finally are met by the blue ones that own my heart.
"Haz, come sit by me." Louis says excitedly from the back of the room.
I make my way past the others and take a seat next to him after reaching over and pulling him into a small hug. "I missed you." I tell him, kissing him on the cheek.
He smiles widely and responds "I missed you too, love. How was your time with your family?"
"It was nice. How was yours?" I ask him.
"Very nice. My sisters say hello, by the way."
I smile at the thought of his sweet sisters, especially Lottie. I'd always been fond of her. "Did they try to convince you to stay away from me?" I ask, not really wanting to know the answer.
Surprisingly he responds with a no, and sends me a cheeky wink. "Even if they did, I could never stay away from you. You're too lovely for that."
My cheeks flush at his compliment, and I sit back in my seat in an attempt to get comfortable. Even though I had only been awake for roughly 4 hours, my eyes start getting heavy as the jet takes off. Louis leans my seat back for me and lifts the arm rest up, so there is nothing between us.
"You can lay down and put your head on my lap if you'd like," he offers.
I take him up on that and lay across the row we are on, placing my head on his thighs. His fingers comb through my curls, and he softly hums a tune to a song I've never heard before.
Before long, I feel myself drifting off and I can't help but let a smile rest on my face.
———
"Would you be quiet, you shit? He's sleeping." I hear Louis angrily whisper from above me.
Niall's laugh then fills the room and he responds, "I forgot how whipped you are, mate."
Louis sighs, and I can imagine him rolling his eyes at Niall's comment. I decide it's a good time to let him know I'm awake, and move so that I am lying on my back.
Louis moves the book he was apparently reading and looks down at me. My heart flutters as I see his reading glasses perched on his nose. He's so damn cute, like he has absolutely no reason to be this precious.
"Aww, I forgot about your glasses." I say, reaching up and brushing a piece of hair behind his ear.
A light blush appears on his cheeks and he mutters "Shut up."
I laugh loudly, still looking up at his beautiful face. His chiseled cheek bones become more defined as he smiles, and he sets his book down on the small table in front of us. He starts to take his glasses off, but I quickly sit up and stop his hand. "No Lou, I love them on you."
"I don't need them when I'm not reading, Harry. I've got contacts now." Louis says, and continues taking them off.
I pout dramatically and sit back in my seat.
He shakes his head before speaking, "Stop pouting, princess. Let's play the question game. I wanna see if I still know a lot about you."
I nod in agreement and excitedly ask "What is your favorite color now?"
He smiles widely and answers "It's still green." Turning his body towards mine, he continues, "Is your's still blue?"
I nod and try to think of another question.
"What is your favorite hobby now?" He asks.
I think thoroughly about my answer to this one. "I really love boxing now," I reply.
"That's hot." Louis mumbles under his breath. A loud laugh escapes my mouth once again, and I softly hit his shoulder.
"Can I come join your party?" Liam says from the front of the room.
We nod enthusiastically and he makes his way over to us.
Louis smiles at him as he takes the seat next to me, which makes me scoot closer to Lou.
"You'll never guess what I just heard from Simon." Liam whispers.
We both give him a look and he continues, "They are starting our tour early, even though we haven't released an album. They want us to just play a mix of our old songs and our solo songs."
I briefly frown as I think about the great songs we had worked on recently, but Louis says "That will be fine, though. I'm just happy we are back together."
My frustration fades and I can't help but agree with him. We don't have to write a new album to have a great time on tour.
"So when are we going to start then?" I ask Liam.
He responds with a shrug, but then answers "Honestly, I think sometime soon. Simon said something about releasing the dates before the end of the week."
"Damn, that is soon. Will that even give us enough time to rehearse and practice the old stuff?" Louis asks with a little frustration evident in his voice.
I furrow my eyebrows at Liam, who just shrugs again, clearly not knowing the answer to that either.
We all sit in silence for a few seconds before Louis suggest watching a movie. Agreeing, Liam puts a movie into the DVD player. I feel Louis rest is head on my shoulder and I sigh in contentment.
"Can we play the game again later?" I ask him, resting my head on his.
I feel him smile and he responds "I'd love that."
