Chapter 12:

A loud, annoying melody comes from the hotel room phone and I groan loudly, pulling my pillow around my ears. My body aches, in a good way, and memories of last night come flooding back. Looking to my right, Louis doesn't move a muscle at the sound of the phone call. I let out another loud groan, but reach over him to grab the telephone off of the bed side table.

"Hello?" I whisper softly, trying to avoid waking Louis up.

A loud laugh comes from the other line, and I immediately recognize it as Niall's. "Harry? I thought this was Louis's room?" he asks in confusion.

My cheeks flush as I realize that we've already been caught. "Uh, I just came in here to hang out with him this morning. What's up?"

He snorts at my response, obviously not believing me. "Oh yes, okay." He laughs softly before continuing, "We are going to go get breakfast with Simon in half an hour. Would you two like to come?"

"Sure, we will meet you in the lobby in 30." I say, placing the phone back onto the table.

Laying down next to Louis, I notice that he still had not woken up. I don't understand how he can sleep through everything. I look around the sun lit room with a small smile on my face. Waking up next to him always made me feel giddy.

Cuddling close, I start running my fingers down his fit body. Low snores come from his perfect lips and I watch his chest rise to the sound of them. He was truly breathtaking; not much had changed about his looks in the past few years, but I was thankful for that. Light freckles covered his slightly crooked nose, and his long hair was messily laid across the pillow under his head.

I knew my creepy habits of watching him sleep were waisting time, but I couldn't take my eyes off of him. I place my hand on his shoulder and softly shake him, "Wake up, Lou. We need to get up."

His eyes flutter open and meet mine, causing a goofy smile to spread across his face.

He throws his arm around my body and places a sloppy kiss to my cheek. "Five more minutes, please. I was really enjoying my dream."

"Oh yeah?" I ask. "What were you dreaming about?"

He smirks, saying nothing.

I roll my eyes at his mysterious gaze, knowing it was probably a sexy dream of some sort.

"How about I go turn the shower on," I say kissing his lips slowly. A soft blush covers his cheeks and he nods, raking his fingers through his hair.

I get up and walk into the bathroom. Pulling the lace shower curtain back, I turn the shower water on and grab the hotel shampoo from the counter. I look back at myself in the mirror and notice how different the person staring back at me is. A month ago, I never went a day without drowning myself in alcohol and crying myself to sleep at night. The person staring back at me looked happy. He had messy hair and his dimples were showing again; I actually liked him.

Louis speaks from the door way, "Are you just staring at yourself? Kind of conceited, baby."

I laugh as I realize how awkward the scene must look, and turn to face him. I reach out for his hands and he gives me a weird look before placing his into mine.

"I was just thinking about how happy you make me, don't worry. I'm still the same humble, innocent boy you fell in love with." I say, pulling his body closer to mine.

He scoffs and softly replies "Humble, yes. Innocent, never." Leaning up on his tippy toes, he presses his plump lips against mine once again. A peaceful sigh leaves my mouth, and I reluctantly pull away.

"We need to take a shower and meet the boys downstairs for breakfast." I say, reaching down to slip off my boxers. I smirk as a look of surprise appears in his eyes, and step away from him into the shower.

After a few seconds, the shower curtain is pulled back and he slips in behind me. I look at his naked body in awe, but manage to start cleaning myself off, despite the distraction. He hums a soft tune, something he had always done while bathing and I smile in contentment. These were the little things I had missed so much.

After a little while, Louis and I are both dressed and ready to meet the rest of the boys to eat. The elevator doors slide open and I see our friends waiting in the lobby. Walking over to the elegant seating area, a mischievous grin rest on Zayn's face.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the two love birds." He says, his voice laced with arrogance. I push his shoulder and roll my eyes, but sit down next to him on the velvet couch.

Liam laughs and pats my shoulder affectionately. "We are just waiting on Simon and the car."

Louis and I both nod and I look away from their expectant stares, not feeling the need to tell them about the night we had.

Liam clears his throat, bringing everyone's attention to him again. He looks at Louis with a pointed gaze, waiting to see if either of us will speak up. I stay quiet, but Louis gives in. "Stop looking at us like that, we are adults too Liam."

"We just want to know what's going on. You two are part of the band, and this is what caused us to need the break in the first place." His words are met with a sharp glare from Louis and he quickly adds "No offense."

Louis rolls his eyes and looks to me before continuing, "We are much more mature now. There are not as many obstacles standing in our way. I do understand why you are worried, though."

I nod in agreement and turn to Liam. "I don't think there will be any issues again. We are taking things slow."

My eyes move back to Louis, and a large smirk rests on his face. Last night, we definitely hadn't taken things slow.

It was a momentary lapse in judgment though, and I would try to avoid it happening again so soon in order to protect our relationship.

Simon chooses this moment to make his entrance, and announces that a car is waiting for us. We all follow him out the back entrance of the hotel and get into the two cars. It only takes a few minutes to get the nice restaurant. Following behind Louis, I take the seat next to him.

We order our food and decide to discuss the plans for today. "So, I know I haven't given you much time to get your bearings again, but I have scheduled the first tour date at the beginning of next month. I don't know if Liam told the rest of you, but we will be holding off on a new album for now and just focus on relearning old songs and practicing your solo material."

"We get to play some of our solo material?" Zayn asks, shock evident in his voice.

Simon smiles and nods. "Yes, like I said, I want this to be a much more enjoyable and relaxed experience for you guys. I know I've made a lot of mistakes in the past, but now we have all grown from it and you deserve looser reigns."

We all nod in agreement, thankful for his new attitude towards the band.

"So, Harry and I can be together publicly if we want?" Louis asks from beside me.

Simon's eyes fill pity and regret. Nodding his head, he replies "Yes, definitely. You have no idea how sorry I am for my involvement in your break up. I know it is hard for you all to see this, but I truly do care for each of you. Your personal lives are not my concern, and I will do a much better job at respecting each of your boundaries."

I pat Simon's shoulder and for the first time in ages, I feel a massive amount of respect for him. "I appreciate that, man. I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we forgive you."

Everyone stares at me in shock, especially Simon, at how easily I forgive him. I'm definitely known to hold onto my grudges, but the last month has taught me how important it is to let go of them.

"I want to enjoy this reunion, so I think we all deserve a fresh start," I elaborate. Simon's face lights up at my words, and a peaceful mood sets over all of us.

He lifts his glass and all of us follow suit. "To fresh starts."
