POV-Henry
We head back behind the counter, and I quickly grab the headphones and give them to Megan.
She sighs. "These uh, these aren't even mine."
I raise an eyebrow an tip my head. "Whose are they then?"
She shrugs and throws them onto the counter. "I found them on here. They must be the manager's."
I nod. "Where are yours?"
Her breath get's caught, and she turns her head away from me. "Please stop asking questions," she demands.
I'm taken aback, but I nod and turn towards the meat and cheeses. After a while things start to blur together, and I decide I need a break.
"I'm going to go get some air," I tell Megan.
She nods and moves to let me get through.
"Henry!" She exclaims right before I walk out the door. I whip around towards her.
She scratches her head and glances down. "I uh, never thanked you."
"For what?" I ask.
"For yesterday. For defending me. It um...it means a lot."
I smile. "Hey, I couldn't just let you suffer. That wouldn't be very gentlemen-like now would it?"
She smiles softly at me, and I turn around and open the glass door.
POV~Megan
I smile to myself as Henry takes a deep breath outside the clear window. He turns to me and sticks out his tongue. I smile a little and roll my eyes, but stick out my tongue at him. He pretends to get offended, and I snort, but immediately cover my mouth and nose. Henry smiles wide and slams open the door.
"Did you just snort?!" He screams.
"Uh, psh no way what're you talking about?" I smile awkwardly and put my fists on the counter.
He grins and slowly dances his way over to me, chanting, "Megan s-n-o-r snorted."
I groan and cross my arms. "Did not."
"Did too."
"Not."
"Mm, I think so."
I try not to smile, and cover it up with another groan. "OK fine, if I admit it will you leave me alone?"
He flashes me a smile. "Maybe."
"Maybe!? Ugh, OK fine I did snort."
He laughs so hard, he falls down and begins to pound the floor.
I sigh and put my head in my hand. "Hardy har, I snorted. Laugh it up."
He finally stops laughing, but he's still chuckling to himself as he get's up with the help of the counter.
"You're such a dork," I giggle.
He snaps his head up with the biggest grin I've ever seen. "I'M the dork?! You just SNORTED."
I blow a piece of hair out of my eyes and cross my arms.
"Yeah, whatever," I mutter.
A kid, probably from our school, comes skipping into the Subway. We both turn to him, and Henry quickly moves behind the counter. Suddenly, Henry grins and high fives the kid.
"Ayo is that Benny?! Ma MAN!" Henry yells.
Benny grins. "You know it. Hey you coming to the party tonight? It'll be at the Karaoke place down the street."
Henry flashes him a grin. "You know it."
Benny smiles and moves over to me. "What's up girl? I'll have a soft drink and a cookie thanks."
I nod and grab a cup to slide it over to him. "What cookie?"
He glances at the cookies. "Hm, how about Macadamia nut?"
I raise my eyebrow, but obey and put the cookie in a small bag.
"Here ya go. Have a nice day."
He grins, and even though I gave him the stuff he lingers.
"Hey! You should come to the party!" He yells.
I sigh and shake my head. "Yeah, I'll pass. I don't do parties."
Henry pops his head in the conversation. "Yeah! Megan you should come!"
"Nope. Not going to happen." I shake my head.
He sighs and gives Benny a wave. "We'll see you there."
Benny yells in celebration and dances out the Subway.
I whip towards Henry. "I am NOT going to some stupid party, Henry."
"Oh come on! What is it going to take?!"
That makes me stop in my tracks. I turn to him with a smug smirk.
"You have to sing a song. And not just any song, it has to be based towards someone in the room."
He considers it for a moment, and then holds out his hand. "Deal."
We shake hands, and I smile. This is gonna be fun.
