POV~Megan
His eyes go wide, but then his lips connect with mine and he pulls me closer. I slide my hands down his head so they're resting on his shoulders. I smile underneath our kiss, and he plants his hands on my waist. His soft lips are cool, and it's like my own connect perfectly with his.
When we pull apart, he smiles and presses his forehead against mine.
"You have no idea...how much I've wanted to do that," he whispers.
"I think I have an idea," I whisper back.
He grins and I move my head on his chest, relaxing and pulling my hands down so they can curl up on his chest. Henry leans down and kisses my head, wrapping his arms around me.
"So..." Henry takes a shaky breath and draws me out.
"Yes?" I ask, smiling.
"Will you go out with me?"
Wait. Is this really happening?! Oh my gosh, I think it is.
I smile.
"Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
And now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my best-est
And nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn
To win some or learn someBut I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yoursWell open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love
Listen to the music of the moment people dance and sing
We are just one big family
And it's our God-forsaken right to be loved loved loved loved lovedSo I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours."I look up into his bright chocolate eyes and smile. "I thought I'd try that singing thing you seem to like to use."
He grins. "So is that a yes?"
I laugh. "Yes!"
He yells out in happiness and picks me up, bringing me up so his hands are right below my butt. I lean down and kiss his nose, smiling softly. He grins and slowly puts me back down.
"I can't believe this is real," he whispers. And he really does seem amazed.
I giggle. "Me either."
Suddenly, we hear a knock on the door.
Henry smiles at me, sliding his hands off of my hips. "It must be my parents."
I nod and go over to the window, peaking through the curtain. I scream when I see my father, standing on the porch, tapping his foot.
Out of the corner of my eye I see Henry about to open the door. I run over to him and jump on his back.
"Megan?! What the-"
I quickly cover his mouth with my hand. He tries to lick my hand, but I pinch his neck and he stops.
I lean down so my mouth meets his ear. "Don't make a sound, that's my dad," I whisper.
Henry makes a muffled whisper, so I uncover my hand.
"How do you know?"
I sigh, and get off of his back. "I peaked through the window."
He nods, bringing out a protective hand in front of me and backing up.
I grab his hand. "We need to get upstairs."
He gives me a quizzical look. "Why?"
"So he can't hear us and just in case he...ya know..." I gesture to the door.
Henry's breath catches. "He would do that?"
I nod.
Henry nods and run up the stairs without hesitation, pulling me along with him. We get upstairs and we quietly dive into his parents room.
When he leads me into the bathroom, I shake my head. "That's the first place he'll check. Trust me."
Henry glances to the side, but nods and leads me back out of the room. He sighs and gestures to the bed.
"Well...I don't think we have any choice but to...um..."
He gives me a tight smile and crawls under the bed. Once he's all the way under there, he peaks his head out.
"C'mon, there's enough room, it'll be fine." His voice goes up at the end.
I raise an eyebrow. "If it's fine the why'd your voice go up?"
He grins at me and gestures towards him. "Just come on Megan."
I sigh and smile a little. "Alright, alright."
I crawl under the bed, so he brings his head back under. It's surprisingly big, but I still can't sit up properly so we both have to lay on our backs.
"I'm...sorry. I'm sorry, Henry," I whisper, my eyes tearing up.
He looks over to me with what I know are worried eyes, even though I can't see.
"Hey, hey it's OK. Come here," he whispers, and I move closer to him so his arms wrap around me.
Suddenly, I hear a crash from downstairs. I gasp and quickly cover my mouth with one hand. Henry puts his on top of my hand, and I put my other one on top of his. My body trembles, and I squeeze my eyes shut to prevent myself from crying. Henry uses his spare hand to hold my body, and I turn my head so that I'm facing him.
POV~Henry
Our hands are holding on so tight I'm afraid I'll lose circulation, but that's the least of my concerns right now. I can't hear Megan's dad anymore, and my parents are supposed to be home right now. If they come in while he's here, who knows what he'll do.
From downstairs, I can now hear, "Meeeeegan, come out PUMPKIN."
He has literally the creepiest voice I've ever heard in my entire life. It's like we're in a horror movie. No joke.
Megan tenses up beside me, and with my spare hand I squeeze her arm and pull her tighter. Her body starts shaking, and I instantly know she's crying. I want to comfort her, but I know I shouldn't talk. I just squeeze her hand tighter.
Then, footsteps. They're coming from out level, and now he's come into my parents room. The very room we're at. Megan stops crying, and it seems like we both stop breathing.
Like Megan guessed, he checks to bathroom first. He walks around eerily, like he's almost a zombie.
When his footsteps make it to where we're at, he stops. Then, a hand reaches underneath the covers, and he snatches it up.
"GOTCHA!"
