POV~Megan
He...sang to me. Henry SANG to me! And it wasn't a normal song either, it was 10,000 years, which just happens to be a love song. Why he broke out in song, I don't know. It's an...interesting way to tell me how he feels. IF that was what he was doing, I don't want to get my hopes up. No, I WON'T get my hopes up, because if I do I know it won't end well. At all.
As Henry and I walk to his house because we have to drop off grocery's, I realize something and gasp.
"What?" He asks.
"I am NOT going to your party in a tank top and shorts. I also only have black eye shadow on."
He smiles. "You look fine, Megan."
I shake my head. "Nope. We have to stop at home."
"No, we don't. You look GOOD, Megan. You always do, no matter what outfit you're wearing."
As he says that he looks me straight in the eye. I blush and smile softly.
"Well, alright then," I whisper, a small smile still on my face.
We get to his house, and before we go inside he turns to me.
"So uh, my parents are a little crazy...and sometimes they fight a lot...and sometimes they can be overbearing-"
I interrupt him. "Henry. It's going to be fine, they sound great."
He gives me a tight smile and opens to door. When we get inside, I find that his dad is yelling at a baseball game on the TV, and music is blaring from upstairs.
"Hey dad," Henry comments, putting the groceries on the table.
His dad barely glances at us. "Wassup, son!"
I giggle, and Henry shoots me a glare. I put my hands up defensively, and he sticks his tongue out at me.
His dad turns off the TV, mumbling to himself about how the game ended terribly. When he looks at me, he turns to Henry and grins.
"This your girlfriend?"
I blush and Henry groans.
"DAD!"
His dad laughs and starts digging through the groceries. "What? Is she not?"
Henry sighs and slaps his dad's hand away. "Just-don't touch. It's for my party."
His dad nods. "Right. Just remember while your mom and I are out, the one rule you have to follow is DON'T DRINK. Otherwise if you wreck the house, that's on you."
Henry rolls his eyes. "I know dad, you've been saying that since I first asked you."
"I know, I know. You just HAVE to follow those rules, or else you're in deep water, son."
Henry pauses. "Speaking of mom, what is she doing?"
His dad gestures upstairs. "Getting ready."
Without thinking, I snort. They both look at me, and I quickly cover my mouth.
His dad grins, then looks to Henry. "Is this Megan?"
My eyes go wide, and I turn to Henry. Henry's cheeks is bright red, and he quickly covers up his face and shakes his head.
"Yes, dad," he mutters.
His dad grins and turns to me with his hand out. "I'm Carl. Nice to meet you, Megan."
I smile a little and shake his hand. His dad looks to still embarrassed Henry and pats his back.
"Well. I'll leave you two alone," he says, and walks upstairs.
I turn to Henry grinning. "You told your parents about me?"
He looks up from his face. "They forced me! They kept asking about my job...and one way or another, I led to you." He smirks. "Plus I had to explain what I was doing in a hospital."
I cringe. "Yeah, sorry about that."
He smiles and waves his hand over. "I'm over it."
I grin and we begin to unload the chips, sodas, candy, mozzarella sticks, pizza, and watermelon. The watermelon was my idea; it's my favorite food.
"So, I'll cut the watermelon and you get bowls out for the chips and candy. Then you can put the pizza in the oven and I'll put the sticks in the microwave," he instructs.
I nod and move over to the cupboards, opening them all to try and find the bowls. I grab a bunch of them, and move over to the table. We got Doritos, Cheetos, original Lays, Frito's. I dump the bags into eight different bowls, since one bowl wasn't enough for the whole bag.
Henry's mom and dad come down in the middle of us preparing. She moves over to Henry, who's still working on the watermelon.
"OK, remember the rule?" She asks.
Henry sighs, barely glancing up from the watermelon. "Yes mom, no alcohol I got it."
"Alright, love ya Henry."
She kisses his head and moves over to me.
She leans in. "You're beautiful, I hope you two end up together."
His mom winks, and then Carl wraps his arm around her and they leave. I smile so wide, glancing over at Henry.
POV~Henry
After I FINALLY finish the stupid watermelon Megan wanted, I put the slices in a bowl and put them on the table. Megan is sitting there, reading a magazine my mom left on the table.
"Wow, way to rub it in my face you're done," I mutter.
She chuckles. "I probably should've done the watermelon."
I groan. "Ya think?"
She flashes me a smile and returns to the magazine. I shake my head and take out all of the mozzarella sticks and lay them on a plate. I put them in the microwave and sit down next to Megan.
She retracts at the magazine and fakes a gag.
"God Henry, what kind of stuff does your mom look at?" She asks, flipping the page quickly.
I shake my head. "I don't want to know."
She shakes her head back. "No sir, you do not."
