A/N: Hey guys!!

Okay so in this chapter you get to dig into Elijah's mind a little bit. Can't give too many spoilers about him but just enough to keep you guessing about who he is as a person. Anyways, this was a little POV, not THAT suspenseful but more so a little background. I want to keep his past a bit more quiet until later. Soon enough you'll see why he is the way he is.

Any who enjoy lovelies!

"Mr. Castle please take a seat and put these on either sides of your temples please. Put these glasses on and hold your right hand out for me and set it on the table so I can place this device on your index finger." said an older women to me as she gave me instructions to initiate my evaluation.

I knew the process already but this was the procedure.

An evaluation was just another word for a test. It wasn't per se a lie detector test but it was very similar in the way the people administering the test went about it. They asked you questions some very simple and some way too deep and they knew when you were lying or hiding something. This was my tenth evaluation since being here and it was annoying to say the least.

"Please state your full name and birthday" said the woman as she began the evaluation.

"Elijah Castle, twenty three years old." I said automatically already knowing the questions that were coming. My attention however was far too lost in the individual to my far right. She sat there answering questions looking confused as ever and keeping her head down making sure not to make eye contact with anyone. My attention went over to her body, the bruises that painted almost every corner. The cuts she had were healing slowly, the bags under her eyes still very visible from long nights, the color of her skin as pale as ever. I couldn't help but wonder how she had stumbled upon Mr. Argent or what on earth had happened to her. She was definitely not the person I once remembered. The Selene Hunter that sat there was far from the girl I once dated.

"Mr. Castle I need you to pay attention" the women said firmly and clearly annoyed at my sudden lack of focus. I nodded my head and looked at her for the remainder of the evaluation making sure not to lose myself in my thoughts.

"Why are you here?"

"I am here to fulfill my duty to my country" I said without hesitation.

"Why are you here?" she asked again.

"I am here to fulfill my duty to my country, to serve and protect those who need protecting" I said with a reassuring tone in my voice.

"Why are you really here Mr. Castle." she repeated.

"I am here for a seat at the table" I snickered making sure to look into the glasses that were monitoring my pupils. The older woman nodding and proceeding to the next question.

"What seat are you referring to?" she questioned.

"The seat as head of director for black site operations" I answered.

"How will you get that seat?" she asked.

"By any means possible" I answered coldly.

"Who and what is your connection to Santiago Price?"
