"Get up Selene, I'm not going to be waiting for you..." Said a voice not too far from me as I pried my eyes open, then quickly closed them again at the sight of a bright light. "What?" I groaned barely above a mumble. "Get up!" the masculine voice yelled. Angrily I got up and opened my eyes, only to realize that I was still in Santiago's bed — my laptop still beside me. I tilted my head towards the voice that was rushing me and took in his appearance. Dressed in all black with a backpack slung over his shoulder; I then realized that I was no longer in the hotel room with Denali, but back in reality. Hurriedly I shot up to my feet and dressed myself in similar attire and messily packed my bag, then grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl and dashed out of the door just in time to catch my roommate leaving.
"Hey!" I called out as I ran towards him.
Silence.
"Santiago!" I yelled again.
Silence.
I mumbled a few curses under my breathe and tried to catch up to him as I took several bites of my apple. "Did you not hear me back there?" I asked him as I caught up to him. He took a side glance at me then back on the path, "I did, I just had nothing to say." He said monotonously. I glared at him and followed him to our training grounds, wait —our training grounds?
"Wait, don't we all have different training grounds? Why am I following you?" I asked him curiously.
"Well when you and Denali were away to who knows where, Argent instructed us that when both of you returned that we had to train with each of you to speed things up."
I furrowed my eyebrows slightly, then stayed quiet the whole way there. Apparently our training grounds weren't as difficult to get to as mine had been, we didn't even need to climb anything, just walk.
About 20 minutes after walking at a very fast pace, we finally reached our destination. Our training grounds was a building that resembled that of a Chinese Kwoon or better known as a dojo. The architecture brought me a sudden surge of peace and tranquility among familiarity as we neared its steps and were welcomed inside by a calming breeze. I didn't get to take in my surroundings well enough before a pair of fists were making themselves towards my face; causing me to duck just in time.
"What the he—"
"You both are late, get dressed and hurry up!" yelled a familiar male voice as he cut me off. I looked up and saw Gio, the trainer I had seen on my first day of meeting my team, looking at me like I had just grown two heads, "Well go on! Go get dressed!" He yelled again as he pointed to what I assumed was either the bathroom or a small dressing room. I stared at him once more and before he said anything else, I marched into the small room from where Santiago was already coming out of. I furrowed my eyebrows in a confused manner, how the hell had he been so quick? "What the hell am I supposed to change into?" I whispered at him as we crossed paths.
"There are several gi's in the room, grab one and change into it before he gets mad." He uttered quickly as he made his way towards a very angry man and I to the room.
I quickly dropped my backpack onto the empty space next to Santiagos belongings while grabbing what seemed like my size gi and changed as fast as I could. Minutes later I emerged from the dressing room and quickly made my way towards a fuming Gio. I gave him a sweet and innocent smile and got a glare in return which caused my facade to fade and give one in return.
