This chapter has slitting of wrists in it, I will let you know at what point.
I had started riding down a few streets until I felt the urge to stop again. When I did and looked up, I was at Richie's old house. It also looked abandoned. I went to the front door and opened it, the inside really made the house look abandoned. It was extremely dusty and there was so much shit on the floor. I just shook my head and went to Richie's room. I remember the last time I was here, too bad that it had to end like that.
August, 1990
I was sitting in my living room watching T.V. when the phone rang. I walked over to it and answered. "This is the Denbrough's household, Briana speaking." I said.
"Hey Bree, it's Richie. Can we talk?" Richie asked on the verge of tears. Richie almost crying, asking if we can talk, him calling me by my real name. These were never good signs.
"Uh, sure. Is everything okay?" I asked him.
"Yeah, can you just come over?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'll be there in five." I told him. I then hung up the phone and hopped on my bike. After getting to Richie's, I went around the back and went to go through a rock at the window to let him know I was there when realized that the window was already open and the ladder was hanging down. I quickly climbed up it and slipped inside his room. Richie was just sitting on his bed. "Hey." I said, making my presence known. He looked up at me and then motioned me to sit down on the bed. I did and looked down at my shoes, knowing something was up.
"Bree, I don't know how else to say this, but we need to break up." Richie said. I knew it was coming, but it hurt all the same and tears flooded my eyes and came down my cheeks. I couldn't look at him, it would hurt too much.
"Did I do something?" I asked him.
"No, no you didn't do anything." He said quickly. "You were a perfect girlfriend, you weren't too clingy and you let me have my space and didn't make things difficult at all, it's just, I can't believe I'm telling someone this." Richie said, taking a deep breath. "Briana I'm gay." Richie said. I looked up at him, tears in his eyes.
"Your-your gay?" I asked, not sure what to say.
"Yeah." He said, trying his best to smile.
"How did you, figure it out?" I asked, trying to sound supportive.
"I um, I have a crush on a guy." Richie said.
"Who....?" I was about to ask before the question answered itself. "Eddie." I said. Richie nodded.
"Do you think it's wrong?" Richie asked. "That I'm gay?"
"No." I told him honestly. "I think, you love who you love and you can't help it." I told him. "I support it."
"Really?" He asked.
"I mean, it sucks because of what's happening between us, but yeah, I support it." I told him. He nodded and smiled. "How long?" I asked him.
"What?" He asked.
"How long have you known?" I asked him. Richie took another deep breath.
