The war has started. A horde of knights clad in crimson armor stood face to face with a consortium of Japanese VRMMO characters. I was spawned in the enemy's rear along with a handful of other ALO players.
"We're out of the game if we get caught," I mentioned, "Keep a low profile and just pick them off one by one."
I took my throwing dagger and focused on a lonely player. I quietly rushed over and stabbed the dagger into his chest. I instinctively moved my left hand over his mouth to mute him but I caught the slits of his masks in my fingers. The player did not scream, however.
"Lucky day," I thought while guiding the body back to the floor slowly.
I looked back at the other few players and they were slowly picking off players. I walked over to one of them and noticed it was Daisuke's friend, Haruto.
"We got to get back to the front lines. They might accidentally target us in their attacks," I mentioned.
He nodded in agreement and relayed the notice to the other players. They understood the possible danger of being behind enemy lines and agreed with me to go back to the front lines.
"So, what's the plan?" Haruto asked.
"I'll cause a distraction, you guys run to the front lines," I explained.
"That's way too dangerous," one of the archers protested.
"Don't worry, I'll be right behind you," I comforted.
I took out my shield and sword. I was about to walk forward when Haruto grabbed my arm. I turned around and he had his long-sword in his left hand.
"Where you go, we all go," he clarified forcefully.
I looked at the archers and they seemed ready for the battle. I grinned for a moment and turned my attention back to Haruto.
"You got it," I conceded.
I took my sword and banged it on my shield. Loud thumps echoed through the ravine we were fighting in. Multiple crimson knights looked in our direction.
"Come and get some!" I shouted.
A knight armed with a lance charged at me. The sounds of his boots hitting the canyon floor reverberated into my ears. I took a defensive stance and placed the circular shield in front of me. The lance pushed on my shield but the steel held firm. The lancer overshot and I spiked the knife into the back of his armor. He cried out in pain and his avatar suddenly disconnected in blue light. I looked to my left and I saw Haruto dueling with a person with a halberd.
"I got you," a female voice shouted.
A bolt from a crossbow appeared out of nowhere and it pierced the helmet.
"Master!" a male voice yelled back.
I turned around and I saw Kureha, Rei, Zeliska, and Bazalt Joe standing there with crossbows.
"How'd you guys find me?" I asked.
"I noticed you were diving, but you weren't in GGO. I heard of this weird server on MMO Today and Rei said, 'Master might be trying a new game.'" she explained.
I looked out in the corner of my eye and I saw a crimson knight raising an ax over Kureha.
"WATCH OUT!" I warned.
They looked behind the saw the ax but Kureha couldn't dodge it in time. The ax chopped off her arm. She fell down in pain and blood started to spew from the open wound. I sprinted over and took off my coat to stop the wound from bleeding further.
