******** Nandini broke the hug with him and looked around. She couldn't stop smiling seeing the beautiful decoration all over the house, it didn't feel any less than a dream. She turned around and went hugged Raman-Ishita and then Raj-Nyonika. They wished her and gave her immense blessing. She went to Abhi after that and he engulfed her and said, 'Happy birthday, my little girl. I can't believe you have turned 21 already. You are still going to be my little girl. I hope you have a great day baccha. I love you.' Nandini hugged him tighter and said, 'Thank you so much, bhai. I love you too and I am always going to be your baccha.'

After that all the elders went to sleep, while the kids went to the terrace as they all decided to stay at Murthy house itself. Before they could all go to the terrace, Manik pulled Nandini to her room and hugged her tight. She was little taken aback with this sudden movement but hugged him back. He broke the hug and kissed her cheek. He said, 'I wanted to spend a few minutes with you because I cannot spend the day with you. I am sorry, and I promise to make it up to you for this, but after the meetings. I am so sorry Nandini.' Nandini smiled and said, 'I understand Manik, don't worry. I know you are busy and you cannot avoid it. I'm glad I could at least see you on my birthday. And Manik, what matters to me is to spend at least sometime with you.'
Manik said, 'Okay, the next half an hour only for us, let me message Cabir.' Nandini stopped him and said, 'Manik can we spend time with them for some time and get back to sleep together? I don't want everyone to keep waiting and fall asleep.' Manik smiled and held her hand saying, 'Let's go babygirl. Your wish my command.' They went to the terrace and saw everyone sitting there with Dhruv setting up the guitar. As soon as Manik saw that, he ran to Dhruv and took the guitar from him saying, 'Aaj meri chance, meri girlfriend ka birthday jo hai.' Dhruv happily gave it to him and sat next to Alya.
Manik tuned the guitar and started singing the song.
Nandini was mesmerized listening to the song and just keep adoring Manik. Throughout the song they could not get their eyes off each other. Manik finished the song and saw everyone in a peaceful and romantic mood. He kept the guitar and said, 'Let's play some game or wanna talk?' They all opted to play heads up. The game went on for nearly half an hour and after that everyone wanted to sleep so they went to sleep.
Manik and Nandini were sitting on the terrace itself and Manik just played some songs on his phone. Nandini looked at him seeing the stars and asked, 'Manik, what is the reason that you love the stars so much?' He looked at her and said, 'Because these stars resemble you to me, Nandini.' She looked confused she smiled and said, 'You're the light in my dark life just like stars are the light in the darkness. You were really the shining and guiding light in my life, Nandini and that is why the stars fascinate me soo much. Thank you for everything, birthday girl. For being there for me and teaching me.' Nandini just went and sat on his lap and said, 'Exactly how you are the hope in my life. Mere pehle relationship ke baad laga nahi mein kabhi itni khushi aur sukoon se reh paaungi, but then you happened Manik Malhotra. You are the best thing that has happened to me.' He smiled and kissed her forehead.
Nandini looked at him and said, 'Manik I need a gift from you today on my birthday.' Manik smiled and said, 'You think I wouldn't give you what you want? Name it and it's yours beautiful. Airpods? Wait, you got them a while back? New clothes or wardrobe, Cosmetics, footwear? Name it.' She kept her hand over his mouth and said, 'None of it, Manik.' He looked at her confused and said, 'If not these, what else? Bolo na mujhe?' She kept her palm on his cheek and said, 'Manik, tumne hamesha yahi kaha na ki Nandini I cannot kiss you because you are drunk, I don't break principles of my life? Aaj, I'm not drunk. I want you to kiss me today, as my birthday gift, can I get that?'
He looked at her shocked and in an unsure tone asked her, 'Nandini, are you sure tumne piya nahi hai? Kyuki baatein toh tumhari kuch aisi hi hai. Matlab paagal ho gayi ho kya? Matlab kuch bhi....' Before he could even finish his line, Nandini kissed him and looked at him saying, 'Ab karoge ya tum besharam ki tarah baithe rahoge?' He looked at her with an intense gaze and held her face pulling her closer and kissed her. Their first kiss was so hatke, had to be. After all they are Manik and Nandini. They looked at each other after the kiss and Nandini with a soft hue on her face said, 'Thank you, Manik.' and hugged him. He hugged her back and said, ' Happy birthday, sweetheart.'
After sitting with each other for some more time, Manik carried her to her room and made her sleep. After she was asleep, he kissed her forehead and moved into his room. He sat on thd bed and was thinking about the kiss and all he could think was, "the best kiss ever". He was thinking to himself, "She is the bestest person in my life and she deserves all the happiness in the world. I really hope I make her birthday the best and I hope none of my plans go flop."
He has always kept her as his priority, he never considered himself superior to him. Her bad days have always made him realise that she bottles up a lot inside her and this is why she is always smiling and pretending to be happy but inside, every bit of it is hurting her itself. He knows that he somehow needs to get it out of her before it starts suffocating him. He decided to call it a day as he has plans for the morning as well.
