Chapter II

One year later...

"Good Morning Arcadia Oaks!!" The alarm went off from outside.

Maya swam to leave her tank.

She removed the water from herself and walked over to her closet to change into her normal attire. Picking out a sea foam green dress with black leggings underneath. Along with that she put on her black sweater above and black converse. She braided her hair and put on her princess crown. A simple gem on her forehead. As she was about to leave she remembered her flower crown.

"Morning Donovan." She said happily as she walked by his room and he groaned.

Doing her morning routine, grabbing an orange before she left to meet up with Jim and Toby.

"Bye Donovan have a good day a work!!" She shouted to him and locked the door on her way out. Now she walked to Jim's house and waited for him.

"Right on time, Maya." Toby said cycling to her as Maya smiled.

"This is the same time I always arrive Toby." She said as she stretched and waited for Jim. The garage door opened and Jim came out from there.

"We're late, Jimbo..."

"Morning Maya, Tobes, I got you guys lunch." He handed both of them individual bags of food.

"Thank you Jim." Maya sat on the back part of his bike and put the food in her bag. She held onto Jim.

"Yeah, thanks Jimbo!" Toby said opening it and looking inside.

"I thought you were on a diet..." Jim asked as they began riding.

Maya held on to his arms and inhaled the fresh air.

"We're really late!" Toby exclaimed.

"Take the canals!" Maya said with a smile.

"Why the canals?" Toby asked.

"Come on Tobes, live a little!" Jim responded as he began going faster and Maya moved her arms around his waist.

As he went really fast, his bike rode down the steep canal and they stopped.

"Hurry up Toby!" Maya exclaimed with a giggle following.

"James...Lake..." A low groan was heard from under the bridge.

"Did you hear that?" Jim asked helping Maya off the bicycle. Maya looked over to the pile of rocks.

"Yeah.. It's coming from over there." Maya pointed as they began walking over to the pile. 

"Who's doing this?!" Toby shouted to no one in particular, but just waited for a respond.

Jim pulled the stone and an amulet was there. 

'An amulet...can it be?' Maya thought to herself as she looked at it.

She was about to inspect it closer but was startled when the bell rang.

"We're so late our kids are still going to be in detention!!" Toby said as they got on the bike and got to school.

They arrived to school and went to class.

Mr. Strickler talked about something, but Maya wasn't really paying attention.

"Stop staring at her.." Toby whisper shouted to Jim.

Maya looked at Claire and back to Jim.

Jim has a huge crush on Claire and Maya gets jealous, because Jim gives her more attention than he gives her. Not that Maya hates Claire, just dislikes the fact that Jim is like almost obsessed with her.
