Chapter XIII

~The Return of Nerou~

Blinky was reading various of books trying to find answers, Maya walked in with Jim. 

"I've spent nights poring over the legend of the stones, decoding it's hidden meanings. Endless, sleepless nights." Blinky said as Jim took off his bag.

"The Triumbric Stones. You found something?"

"Rumors say they are tied to Gunmar's life force." Blinky explained to him. Jim asked Blinky to re-read the poem and his eyes lit up.

"I know who has the first one." Jim stated with a smile.

"Who, Master Jim?" Blinky said as everyone turned to him.

"Maya. The first one speaks of The Oceans Heartland. That is in the Aegean Sea or in other terms, Poseidon's Kingdom." Jim said pointing at Maya as she looked confused.

"Wait! So, Maya, your family has the first stone! You can get my brother back? When do we leave?" Claire asked excitingly.

"This sounds like a quest! Guys! We are heading for our first Trollhunter quest!" Toby exclaimed brightly.

"Pack your bags!" Blinky exclaimed as he closed the book.

"Wait!!" Maya shouted as they stopped and she exhaled.

"My Father is only allowing me, Donovan and my fiance to come to the kingdom." Maya said as they stopped.

"Who's your fiance Maya?" Blinky asked as they all looked confused.

Maya whispered but it was too low to hear. Jim began turning red and looked away from the rest.

"Speak louder Maya!" Toby exclaimed to her. 

"Jim, is my fiance." Maya spoke as everyone gasped.

"Wait, you guys are engaged!?" Claire shouted shocked and they all looked shocked minus Jim and Maya.

"Due to my family traditions, when a being get's in a relationship with a princess, of my kind, they are to be engaged and the male has to protect their to-be-wife from the challenges." Maya spoke as she stood next to Jim.

"What do you mean challenges?" Toby asked as Maya was going to respond, but Jim answered for her.

"That means, I have to accept any battle that threatens Maya and my engagement." Jim said as he grabbed her hand.

"And you are okay with this, Master Jim? Because those battles are extremely bloody, you fight to the death and then the fiancee gets taken." Blinky asked Jim as he nodded.

"I'm not taking everyone to my kingdom, my father is not going to allow me to bring everyone." Maya protested as she let go of Jim's hand.

Jim looked at everyone and pulled Maya to the side.

"Maya, can you at least try to ask him?" Jim asked holding her hands.

"I can't. But you can go figure out where to find the other stones and I'll ask my father." Maya said uncomfortable. After a moment of silence Maya looked away.

"I'm heading home, I'll retrieve the stone and come back to bring it to you. I'll talk to you later." Maya said as she walked past him and left. 

After a bit of time that had passed, Maya prepared to leave and Donovan opened the warp. Maya was about to jump in, but was stopped when she heard someone call her.

"Maya!" Jim shouted from the other side of the fence.

"Jim?" Maya responded confused as Jim jumped over the fence, catching his breath and looked up to Maya.
