Chapter XXXI

Maya and Jim were in his room, planning on what the two of them are to do. He grew worried as Maya turned to him and hugged him gently. Jim inhaled and exhaled deeply as he wrapped his arms around her.

"We got this Jim. As long as we have each other back." Maya said as she pulled away and he nodded.

"Of course, we can do this." Jim said determined as he stood up and they headed downstairs.

"Gunmar and Angor Rot will be our fight." Jim stated as Maya followed behind him.

"First, we'll do what we can to clear Arcadia Square. So no one gets hurt." Jim said as Maya nodded.

"Actually there is no we until night falls. In your current form, sunlight will burn you as much as any of us trolls." Blinky said to Jim as Jim was reminded of him troll form.

"Donovan has brought in my army, they will fight and protect the civilians, until Jim and I can leave." Maya added as Jim nodded.

"We'll go with the children and put a stop to this Battle of the Bands." Nomura stated her plan with Strickler's help.

"Then am I to fight Morgana alone?" Merlin asked annoyed.

"I'll go. Keep safe." Aaarrrggghhh said to him.

"I'll send in Donovan to assist you as well. He is the strongest warrior yet." Maya explained as Merlin nodded.

"The moment of truth is within us. With fortitude and bravery, we can end the threat posed by Morgana, Gunmar and Angor Rot for all time!" Blinky exclaimed as Maya nodded.

Toby cheered alone as everyone turned to him confused.

"It definitely felt like we were all gonna do that." Toby said out loud as Maya giggled.

Merlin went to the kitchen and Jim followed. Maya walked over to the living room to call Donovan.

"Donovan, come to me." Maya commanded him and within seconds, Donovan appeared in front of the door.

He walked inside and turned to Maya.

"Head with Merlin to fight Morgana. Leave the army with Blinky." Maya said to him as Donovan went to speak to Blinky about the army.

'Please be safe Douxie...' Maya thought to herself as she sent him a quick message.

Maya looked outside the window as Jim finally came back from speaking with Merlin.

"Please, sweetie, be safe." Barbara said to Jim as he hugged her tightly.

"I will. Don't worry, plus I have Maya." Jim reassured her worried mother, she walked over to Maya and hugged her as well.

"Take care of my boy, Maya." Barbara said to her as Maya smiled confidently.

"I will. I always do."

Barbara left for work and Jim held onto Maya's hand tightly.

Claire and Toby suited up in Jim's room. Maya had sat down outside of Jim's room. 

She stared at her shiny crown, a vision flashed in her mind and instead of seeing her own reflection she saw a being of water with glowing bright neon green eyes. Maya threw her crown away from her and soon loud noises filled her ears.

"Maya!"

She covered her ears as the sound of crashing waves, the earth shifting, buildings collapsing, the screams of civilians, all at once loudly blared in her ears. The last thing she heard and saw was a bright blue light and a bruised Jim.
