Chapter XI

~Protect~

The Trollhunters planned in Toby's home. 

"What good is this amulet if it can't help me with this?" Jim asked as he pointed at the fetch.

"Claire's brother is trapped somewhere in the Darklands, and there's nothing I can do about it?" Jim exclaimed growing upset. Maya walked up to him and placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Not yet." Maya calmly said to him as he exhaled.

"Unfortunately, there is nothing any one of us can do." Blinky said with disappointment.

"What about the furgolator machine?" Jim asked thinking of all kinds of possibilities.

"The what?" Maya asked confused.

"If I can shrink down, maybe--" Jim started saying something, but was interrupted by Toby.

"-I mean, sure, we can go in all fun-sized, but when it wears off and we become full-sized, we'll be stuck in there, too." Toby interrupted his sentence.

"And the Darklands is a black labyrinth, Master Jim. Simply finding Baby Enrique would be a nigh impossible task of it's own." Blinky said the downside.

"Gunmar." Aaarrrggghhh added to what Blinky was explaining, focused on his video game.

"Aaarrrggghhh is right. If any of us were foolish enough to cross over, under no circumstances could you be saved, at risk of freeing Gunmar." Blinky agreed with Aaarrrggghhh sternly.

"But, what if--?" Jim was about to say another plan until Aaarrrggghhh interrupted him.

"Under no circumstances!" Aaarrrggghhh exclaimed angrily, Jim backed up.

"Dude, don't be reckless! You almost just lost a golden tuna roll! Sit down! Relax!" Toby began to calm him down as he sat back down.

"What happened to the Trollhunter answering every call?" Jim asked sadly.

"You have a strong heart, Master Jim, a quality rarely seen in trolls." Blinky said standing next to him.

"Plus...we will get him one day, and even though that might not be today. We will get him back." Maya optimistically said with a smile. Jim turned to her and smiled weakly. Chompsky left the dollhouse and saluted, he pointed at the Fetch.

"Chompsky, no! That is too much to ask." Toby kneeled next to him.

Maya looked at Chompsky, she grabbed the Fetch and placed it on the ground. As they tied a rope around Chompsky, they turned the Fetch on and prepared Chompsky for this mission.

"Be careful. It's dangerous in the Darklands. When you find Claire's brother, just give us a tug and we'll get you back, okay?" Jim said to the gnome as he nodded and was about to jump in until Toby stopped him.

"Wait! She has something to say." Toby grabbed the doll in the dollhouse and moved it to Chompsky.

Maya looked away and waited until he was done and soon Chompsky was ready. They all moved on Toby's bed waiting for him to go. Chompsky jumped in and soon silence spread throughout the room.

"All we can do is hope." Blinky commented as they watched the Fetch closely, waiting for something to happen. As soon as they began to relaxed the rope was being pulled violently.

"Pull Jim!" Maya said as she jumped over and helped Jim, but it was too late. The rope had snapped.

"Chompsky! No!" Toby shouted as the Fetch turned off.

"He's a scrubby creature, Tobias. If anyone can survive there, it's him. Still want that furgolator now?" Blinky asked Jim, a loud knock on the window was heard.
