In the West city of Baltimore, an African-American man, Freddy Gray, is seen running in the streets, while being chased by three white male Baltimore City Police officers on bike patrol.
Officer Nero: Halt! Halt!
Officer Miller: Stop!
Meanwhile, bystanders, mostly African-American, are watching the chase and get their phones out to record. After a long chase, Gray trips, before Miller quickly gets off his bike and rams into Gray, just as he is recovering.
Gray: Ah! Yo! Come on, dude!
Miller holds Gray down, just as Nero and Rice arrive, ganging up on him.
Gray: What the fuck, man?! I didn't fuckin do anything, bro!
Miller: Shut your goddamn mouth! Nero, search this guy.
Nero pats down Gray.
Gray: Yo! Come on, dude. My knees is fucked up, dawg. You ain't gotta be doin all that shit!
Nero: Look at what we got here.
Nero pulls out a pocket knife.
Rice: Told you I saw a knife on this fucker...

Gray: Yo! Come on, dude!
Miller: Ah, shit....Rice...Nero....keep those people back.

Porter: What do we got, gentlemen?
Nero: Porter, caught this motherfucker running....had a knife on him....
Gray: Yo! That some bullshit! These motherfuckers chasing me, dude! Come on, man!
Porter seems concerned, but then talks into his radio.

Gray: The fuck you calling additional units for, dawg?! Ah, yo, for real, my spine is fucked up.
Miller: I don't give a fuck. Stop moving or I'll tase your ass again.
