In a bus ride through town, Seth, Nicole, Ryan, Victoria and Terri reassure and comfort a disappointed Lori.
Lori: We were so damn close....
Nicole: Lori, you sounded great...hell, you all did....there will be a next time, just not now...
Lori: That was my ticket out of this damn city....
Victoria: Lori, we're all hurt, okay?
Nicole talks to Seth.
Nicole: You okay? I know she's not the only one hurting.
Seth: I'll be fine....I just...I just wish you could've heard the song....
Nicole takes Seth's hand and places her head on his shoulders.
Nicole: You can sing it to me tonight.
Unfortunately, the bus ride drives where the rioting is taking place.
Seth: Holy hell...you all seeing this?
Ryan: That guy was not joking around....everyone in the city really is rioting....even a few white folks are starting to join....
Seth: Well, I say go up to 14th street and be apart of this....Freddie Gray's voice needs to be heard.
Nicole: Seth....as much of a good idea that'll be, I'm not up for that.
Lori: She's right...we're working musicians
Seth: I'm just as pissed about what happened to him as those other guys.
Victoria: Yeah, if they don't rip our heads off, first....I don't want to end up getting accidentally shot by the police or national guardsmen trying to speak up.
Lori: Look, we're not too far from a taxi...let's just take one into the county and wait it out...maybe stay at a hotel tonight.
Suddenly, a protester throws a brick at the bus, as more protesters join in, breaking the windows and forcing the bus driver to stop.
Bus Driver: Jesus!
Lori: Let's get the hell off this bus!
Bus Driver: Everyone off! Now! Now!
The passengers on the bus, including the band, are forced to leave the bus, into the streets where rioting, looting and vandalism are taking place. At the police station, Cross is seen with his head folded in his arms. Bowers walks in and slams the door, awakening Cross.
Bowers: Enjoy your rest, sleeping beauty?
Cross: Sorry...I've been working since yesterday night....since the riots started....
Bowers: Uh-huh...
Bowers begins writing down something in his journal. Cross rubs his eyes.
Bowers: I guess you're sleeping well with knowing that old man is planning on suing BCPD for emotional distress against his son and racial profiling for his son's friends....Oh and that girl you shot at is sleeping....permanently...yeah, a nice African woman called paramedics after she found her bleeding out on a car...but by time they got there...she was already dead...her girlfriend is devastated.
