In the courthouse, Cross is texting on his phone with toothpick in his mouth as Seth, with lips folded, approaches him. Cross lifts up his head and notices Seth.
Cross: Can I help you, sir?
Seth: You Cross?
Cross: Who's asking?
Seth: .....you met my girlfriend a few nights ago....at the Hampton Inn Hotel.
Cross gives a look and puts away his phone.
Cross: Let me guess....Nicole's boyfriend.
Seth: Don't say her fucking name.
Cross: If it means anything, I am sorry for your loss....Truly....I understand if you have nothing you want to say to me...
Cross turns and walks away, but then Seth calls out.
Seth: Wait
Cross turns around and approaches Seth.
Seth: I want to know....why did...why did you....
Cross: Why did I kill your girlfriend?
Seth remains silent.
Cross: She was asked to comply with the lawful order and relinquish a weapon that she was accused of having....your girlfriend wasn't anything personal...and I was just doing my job....
Seth: I thought cop's jobs were to protect people....not kill them....did she give you a good reason?
Tonya and Victoria walk in to notice the two men exchanging a conversation.
Cross: Again; I just told you my reason.....then again, maybe Baltimore needed to stop bitchin about dead black boys being killed by the police and focus on dead white girls instead....I'm just sorry it had to be your girl.
Seth: Is that all she is to you? Just a dead white girl?
Cross: With all due respect, that's all she'll be known throughout Baltimore...probably the whole country. Your girlfriend wasn't personal. I would've done what I did to her to anyone. If it brings you peace, I did offer her a chance...and had she taken it, she'd still be alive.
Seth bites his lip, before Tonya approaches.
Tonya: Seth. Come on, baby....Come on....It's not worth it.
Tonya leads Seth away, before Lori returns into looks back at Cross with smug look.
Cross: Evening, sista.....
Cross chuckles and smiles as he watches Lori and the Jackson family entering the courtroom. The hearing is assembled back into the courtroom. Judge Winters enters the courtroom.
Bailiff: All rise. Jury entering.
Everyone in the courtroom stands up, but Lori, Tonya, Seth, Victoria, Mosby, the Jackson family and a mixture crowd of LBGT, female and BLM supporters silently protest.
Bailiff: All rise.
The Raven family, Seth, the Jackson family and the crowd of LBGT, female and BLM supporters stand up.
