Daniella's POV

I smiled as we all walked back to mine and Lilah's house. Lilah was stuck to Jerome's side while Mitch and I walked alone.

I felt an arm go over my shoulder. I turned to see Mitch looking straight still like he didn't mean to.

We sat on the floor, Lilah curled up with Jerome while Jerome played with her fingers. Mitch sat next to me, my head rested on his shoulder.

"This is what we never had.." Lilah mumbled opening her eyes and looking at. I smiled and nodded while Mitch looked confused and Jerome was still entertained by Delilah's fingers.

"Oh.. I get it now.." Mitch said nodding.

"Huh?" Jerome asked finally.

"Welcome back Jerome" I laughed while he made a face and laughed himself.

"Hey Dani.." Lilah spoke up, "what are we gonna do about dad.."

My happy face fell and I looked down, "I don't know.. I mean I thought he was gone.. but he's not so.. I don't know anymore"

"It's who we are" she said looking up at me, "we don't get a break.. we just have to keep going"

I look up at him. I see the worry and concern in his eyes. And with that....

"Lilah he isn't coming back.." I whispered, "I promise he won't come back.."

"Please what? Your scared. Weak. Worthless. Why are you even on this earth? Huh? Because your sister 'needs' you" he scoffed, "she'd be better off without you" he said turning away.

I froze, before I could catch up with my mind, I grabbed a stone and threw it at Adam. "shut up!" I yelled.

I stepped out onto the porch with Jerome as he looked anywhere but at me. "Daniella.. I want the reason. I want a good, honest, reason why I can't be with Delilah" he said slowly and quietly.

"Lilah run!" I screamed. Jerome stopped and said something to her, she nodded and started running while Jerome ran towards me and Mitch.

His smirk dropped and he contemplated the though for a moment, "your lucky your helpless" he mutter dropping my arms and walking away.

My heart leaped at his words, Dani, my Dani, said yes. "Yes." I said with probably the biggest grin on my face. Jerome grabbed me and started spinning me around the room and laughed whole heartedly.
